Coffee with Counselors

Join us for our virtual "Coffee with Counselors" on April 12 as we discuss building a student's academic profile. We will provide information about the next steps in the course selection process and share information about multi-year course planning, graduation requirements, and how these connect to post-secondary planning. Please use this Zoom link to join us. This event will be recorded. *Please note this date has changed since our previous communication.*

Course Selection for Next Year

Students should meet with their school counselor before April break to review their course requests. We are offering a variety of different times and locations for these meetings. Students should check their counselors' Google Classroom or the morning announcements for more details.

After we have completed these meetings, we will share information with families about how to view course requests and address any necessary changes.

WHS Scholarship Booklet for Seniors

The WHS Scholarship Booklet (now a Google Classroom) is live! All seniors are encouraged to join the Google Classroom if they have not already done so. WHS students are eligible for over 60 scholarships. Most deadlines are before April vacation. Contact Mrs. Tracy with questions.

Scholarships (new additions)

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society is now accepting scholarship applications. This $2000 scholarship will be awarded to a female planning to enter the field of education. Applications are located in Guidance.

The Massachusetts Broadcasters Association scholarship application is available online at massbroadcasters.org/scholarship. Students entering the field of broadcasting are encouraged to apply.

All high school juniors and seniors residing in MA are eligible to apply for the Discovery Museum Scholarship. Award money can be used for any educational or developmental experience, such as college or trade school tuition, travel expenses to support an exciting volunteer opportunity, or costs to provide a learning experience for young children. Four award recipients will receive a one-time, $1,500 award. For one of the four awards, preference will be given to Discovery Museum past or current employees or volunteers. Applications are due March 31. The application can be found here.

The Massachusetts Campground Owners Association is now accepting applications for their $1000 scholarship. Students planning to study Outdoor Recreation, Hospitality, Engineering, and Environmental Preservation are preferred. Application, short essay, and recommendation letter required. Applications are located in Guidance and are due May 20.

We encourage seniors and their families to watch this webinar, presented by MEFA, to learn more about comparing different financial aid offers and paying for college.

NCAA Webinar for College-bound Student Athletes and Families

High school student-athletes focused on playing their sport at the NCAA level won't want to miss this informative hour on April 30 with the Eligibility Center staff. Learn about next steps, based on your year in high school and how the removal of standardized test score requirements may impact your eligibility experience.
