Today was an awesome day! Google Expedition, a virtual field trip experience, visited Merton Intermediate School. Many students in grades 2-8 had an opportunity to learn about a variety of topics, from the moon to our National Parks. When I have a chance, I'll make sure to blog about our experience and share it on Twitter, Facebook, and on our website.

Next Sunday, April 17th, the Merton PTO is having a family bowling event at Sussex Bowl. For $30 your family (up to 6 people) will have a lane reserved for 90 minutes of bowling fun. Shoe rental is included in this price. In addition to bowling, we will have a fabulous raffle featuring family-oriented items, food specials, and more! While you are enjoying some fun with your family you will be helping to raise money for new playground equipment. Thanks to the exceptional leadership of Mrs. Niemczyk and Miss Kohnert, our Student Senate, as well as student and staff volunteers, will be hosting a Carnival to raise funds for a new and improved Intermediate School playground. There will be inflatables, carnival games, and concessions, all for the enjoyment of our Primary School students and their families. We hope that you can join us for some fun and prizes.

Math Meet is an opportunity for some of our students to shine and show off their math talents. Below are pictures of our Math Meet teams as they participated in the Regional Math Meet this week. Our 5th and 6th grade team took 5th place. Our 7th and 8th grade team took 2nd place and will move on to the state competition in May. Congratulations! We are proud of you!

As many of you know, Mr. Budisch is being recognized as one of the first annual Kohl Education Foundation School Leadership recipients. Mr. Budisch is one of only 12 principals in the Wisconsin chosen to receive this award. I am proud to call him a mentor, a colleague, and a friend. Congratulations, Mr. Budisch!
