Give Back Galesburg, Be the Change Coin Collection Winner
Thank you for supporting Give Back Galesburg, Be the Change Coin Collection. The homeroom that brought in the most donations was Mr. Orellana's 4th grade homeroom. They will enjoy an extra PE session with varsity athletes from Galesburg High School on Wednesday, January 31st.
Steele Family Game Night was a Success!
Thank you to everyone that planned, donated items, and/or attended the evening! We had so many families participate in the fun! As special thank you goes out to our amazing PTO for planning this event and to Mr. Anthony Law from Carl Sandburg College and the Men of Distinction and Women of Character organizations for volunteering at the event. Shine in #205
CUSD #205 is kicking off “Shine in #205” for the 2023-2024 school year. The program is aimed to provide recognition for district employees who go the extra mile for students in #205. Each month there will be two staff members selected from the nominations. Parents, Guardians, Co-Workers, Community members are all welcome to nominate a CUSD

Dress Like a Teacher Day at Steele School
On Friday, January 26th, our student council planned a "Dress Like A Teacher" day to raise funds and awareness for the Children's Grief Camp run by Hospice Compassus of Galesburg. Our school was able to donate $131.18. Mr. Stecher's 3rd grade homeroom, Mrs. Kohl's kindergarten homeroom, and Miss Eager's 3rd grade homeroom raised the most amount of money for the cause.
