Happy April!

We are so excited to see the production of "Jungle Book" put on by our fifth graders and Sound Offs! It will be on April 6 at 6:00 pm. A big thank you to Mrs. Money, Mrs. Crumpton, Mrs. Holden, Mrs. Confer, and Mrs. Hardin for their leadership and commitment to our students. They have worked many hours after school with students.

Our last All Pro Dad will be on April 20. Another big thank you goes to Clif Alexander for his faithful leadership with this program. We also appreciate the dads who come each month.

We will also honor our Retired Teachers at the end of the month with a special luncheon. The wonderful heritage that we experience now is built on the hard work from so many along the way. We appreciate all that has been done that has created the wonderful school we enjoy today.

It is hard to believe that May is around the corner.....

5K teachers will conduct screenings for those NEW to SME during the week of April 3. If you have a student who will be attending kindergarten next year and haven't registered, please do this as soon as possible. This helps us plan staffing for next year.

Spring Break will be April 7 - 16. We look forward to seeing all students again on April 17.

Please do not use the side parking lot for drop off or pick up unless you have obtained permission from office administration. It is very easy for a student to be hit by a car when a car is backing up. Please use the car line for dropping off and picking up.

Also, in the mornings, please do not allow your students to get out of the car until the bell rings. They need to stay in the car until an adult is on duty.

All transportation changes need to go through the front office. Please do not email the teacher with these changes without also notifying the front office.

Our 3rd - 5th graders will take SC Ready on the following dates:

May 2 - ELA Day 1

May 3 - ELA Day 2

May 9 - Math

May 10 - Science (only 4th graders)

The fifth-grade awards and end-of-year celebration will be held on May 16 at Daniel High School at 6:00 pm.
