School Council Meeting

Tonight at 7:00 pm, we will host a virtual school council meeting through Zoom. Parents and guardians play an important role in student success. School councils allow parents to participate in decisions that impact student learning. By contributing knowledge, perspective, and ideas at school council meetings, parents actively contribute to the success of the school community.

ECKS Virtual Band Club

As you know, Covid-19 has impacted the ECKS Band program for the time being. In an effort to allow our musical students to keep up their hard earned skills, and their general interest in band, Mr. Bailey would like to offer a virtual “Band Club”.

This group would consist of students, who have previous experience in band, and who are interested in doing some individual playing in an online setting, and then sharing their sounds with Mr. Bailey. It would be an extracurricular activity, with times and day of the week to be decided.

For now, we would simply like to determine who is interested in this activity. Please note that it is not a class, and there will be no evaluation, just a fun opportunity for playing and some helpful feedback from Mr. Bailey.

Mr. Bailey will provide music for the students to practice, and instruments can be arranged through the school for those students who do not have their own instrument.

Mr. Bailey and our school community look forward to hearing the wonderful sounds of our musicians again, and would encourage anyone who is interested to let Mr. Brandt at jbrandt@brsd.ab.ca know as soon as possible so planning can move ahead!
