Principal's Message
Hello Families,
We are looking forward to seeing you at Meet and Greet tonight! Meet and Greet is an opportunity for students to drop off materials, tour classrooms, and meet their teacher. Family Meet and Greet times are recommended below, but please know you can come outside of those times if that works in your family schedule. Spacing things out just helps to create a better experience for everyone.
Meet and Greet Times Assigned By Last Name.
- 4:00 p.m.: Student last names A-M
- 5:00 p.m.: Student last names N-Z
Parking – Please park in either our visitor parking (South lot off of Whalen Dr.) and enter through door 1 or in our staff parking lot (North lot off of Schumacher Dr.) and enter through door 7. You may also park on the street (either Schumacher or Whalen) and walk up as well.
We understand that not everyone will be able to join us during this event and that is okay. Materials can be brought with your child on the first day of school.
Stay Connected
More than ever, home and school communication will be important. Here is how we can stay connected:
- Whole school information will be shared by E-mail, the Meadow View website, and this very newsletter (sent out on Tuesdays).
- The Family Resources tab on the school website is a valuable resource as well.
- Classroom information will be shared by individual teachers. Please read the notes/emails and connect via Seesaw. Be sure to check any take-home folders from the classroom, as some information is best sent with old-fashioned paper.
- “Like” us on Facebook, "follow" us on Instagram for a social media experience.
- Seesaw now has an all-school announcement feature that we used at times last year and will use again to connect in various ways. It is great for quick reminders, PTO news, and more!
There will also be times when you will need to call the school. Here are the important phone numbers:
- Attendance (262) 560-8002
- Health Room (262) 560-8003
- Main Office (262) 560-8005 or 8006
Welcome back!
Paws Up,
Mr. Schreiber

Drop off and pick up information
Morning Drop Off
Any time you enter the driveway, please make certain to give our students a “brake!” Slow down.
Arrive between 8:20 and 8:35. Supervision is provided. Students enter school at 8:30 and class begins at 8:40.
Have your children ready to get out of the car on their own, and they should exit the car on the right side so they do not cross between cars. Should you need to help them out, please park in the spaces provided and walk your child to the crosswalk.
Pull up as far as possible in the drop-off line.
When leaving, please wait for the car in front of you to pull out.
Dismissal
Car tags are available upon request by emailing or calling the office.
The loading zone will be in the same area as morning drop off.
Please use the car line and refrain from parking and walking to the front of the building
If your child is not ready when you are in the loading zone, please loop back around and get in line again. This will help us keep the line moving.
Help us time your arrival. Our 4K and 5K students will be the first out of the building, followed by 1st and 2nd, and 3rd and 4th will be the last out.

Volunteer Background Checks
Anyone who plans on volunteering in the school/classroom or chaperoning a field trip is required to fill out a background check. These background checks are good for 3 years.
The Oconomowoc Area School District is now using SecureVolunteer to process criminal background checks for volunteers. SecureVolunteer is a completely web-based/paperless system. BIB takes personal data security and privacy very seriously and has instituted safeguards to protect personal data.
To complete your criminal background check, please visit your school’s webpage:
VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECKS LINK
You will receive e-mails from clientservices@bib.com when you submit your information to SecureVolunteer AND when your background check has been completed.
Thank you for volunteering in the Oconomowoc Area School District. We appreciate YOUJ
Celebrating birthdays at school
As we moved into our new building several years ago, it gave us an opportunity to reflect on how we approached certain things. Due to the growing number of health concerns for our students, we are continuing to ask families to not send in food items to celebrate a child’s birthday or star student. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Because birthdays are meant to be fun, we will celebrate a child’s birthday in many special ways which do not include food. For example:
We will continue to announce each child’s name during the morning announcements and ask them to come to the office for a birthday pencil.
A special birthday slide in the commons.
Each class will continue to do unique things in the classroom. Some examples include:
giving the student a birthday crown or special pin to wear for the day
displaying a birthday sign or poster
singing “Happy Birthday” to the child
writing or sharing compliments to the birthday child
giving the birthday child special privileges in the classroom like lining up first, sitting in a special chair, or choosing the Morning Meeting game the class will play.
If you are planning a party at home and wish to invite class members, please phone the invitations or mail them directly to the home rather than handing them out at school. Finally, please do not send balloon bouquets or flowers to children at school. If balloons or flowers are sent, they will be kept in the office and given to the child at the end of the day.
We appreciate your support!
Thank you,
Mr. Schreiber
