Dear TMS Families and Students,
Thank you to everyone that has reached out to Tonganoxie Middle School regarding the passing of Katie Brooks.
Mrs. Brooks had a passion for reading and was always enthusiastic about helping students learn and grow. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
We understand that this news may be difficult to process, especially for our students who had the privilege of learning from Mrs. Brooks. Please know that we are here to support all of our students during this time. Our school counselors and social workers are available to meet with students individually or in groups to provide grief counseling and support. They can also offer resources and guidance to parents and families who are struggling to help their children cope with this loss. I want to assure you that the Tonganoxie Middle School staff care about all of our students and the feelings they may be experiencing.
In the coming days and weeks, we will be working together as a school community to honor Mrs. Brooks and remember her legacy. We will also be working to ensure a smooth transition for students in her 7th Grade Language Arts classes.
