We know there are many many questions about what school will "look like" this year. We are working very closely with the Montgomery County Health Department to make the most informed decisions possible and to put routines and procedures in place to keep everyone safe.

We want our students school experience to be as "normal" as possible. We will continue to focus on learning and building productive citizens. We will continue to use our 5 Be's to promote positive behavior in our school.

We will have an "Energy Bus" theme this year and work towards highlighting our Positive Passengers. I have already been stressing the importance of patience, flexibility and grace with our staff and will continue to stress that to our students' and families. These are very unique times and we will need to show compassion as we traverse these ever changing waters.

Please understand that anything in this newsletter could change at any minute based on guidance from the Montgomery County Health Department or the needs of our building.

Each student who will be enrolled at Jonesburg Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year MUST return a registration packet and complete the online registration. The registration forms were mailed to all returning students. If you are new to our district or you have not received a packet, please call our office at 833-662-6228, ext. 4103. We will get a packet mailed to you or ready for you to pickup.

We have one form we forgot to send in the original packet. It is the JBE Elementary Handbook signature sheet and social media form. You can find the handbook in the For Parents section of the Jonesburg Elementary website. We will have the form printed at registration for you.

If you need assistance with online registration, we will have the computer lab available and staff members to assist you.

You are welcome to wear a mask if you prefer.

You can return your summer reading log at this time.

We are currently planning on hosting an in person Teacher Meet & Greet and supply drop off. Parents and Students are invited to stop by, meet their teacher, and drop off their supplies during your designated time slot based on the last name of your oldest child attending JBE. We are trying to keep the number of people in the building at one time limited. If you are unable to make it at your designated time slot, please call the office to make an appointment to come at a different time.

Students can find out who their teacher is at our Teacher Meet & Greet event.

We are grateful for the much needed improvements, but we are on a very tight schedule. Please be understanding at Meet & Greet night if classrooms don't look Pinterest Perfect. Our teachers are in a time crunch to get everything moved back in from the gym to their classrooms.

I think you are going to be excited to see how bright and energy efficient the improvements are in the intermediate wing! When it is all completed we will have a new HVAC system, exterior windows, fresh exterior paint, interior doors, new tile in two rooms, and a drop ceiling and new lighting in the hallway.

You can access the Jonesburg Elementary page by dropping down the "Schools" button at the top right.

This online remediation and practice program is one way that we can continue closing the gap on lost information from last spring.

You can find the most up to date breakfast and lunch menus on the district website on the left side by clicking on the green box that says school menus. Make sure you choose Jonesburg Elementary! You can also click on this link to see the menus.

I know that there is a certain amount of anxiety involved with receiving attendance letters from the school. Please know that we are mandated to mail attendance letters after your students 3rd, 5th and 8th absence. This DOES NOT mean that we are going to call the truancy officer. On the back of the letter you will see the dates of your students absence and the detail that we noted when you called in. As always, we will be in touch if we have specific concerns. Please continue to communicate with our office about your students attendance.
