A cold front is here this week, so please remember to send your child to school in warm, weather-appropriate clothing. ❄️🧥

This second semester, we’re diving into exciting learning opportunities and growth. January’s Character Strong trait is Responsibility, and we’ll be exploring how we can show responsibility at school, home, and in our community. 🌟

Exciting News from the Library!
We’re thrilled to announce - on Monday afternoons, therapy dogs from Divine Canines will be joining us in the library! Some of our Wildcats will have the opportunity to read aloud to these furry friends, helping to build their literacy skills in a calm and supportive environment. We can’t wait for our students to enjoy this special, pawsitive experience!

Nominations for 2025 Awards are Now Open!

District staff, families, and the community are invited to submit a nomination for a campus staff member they believe represents the very best of Austin ISD.

The Salute Awards recognizes campus-based staff members in TEN categories. The winners will be celebrated at our Salute Awards ceremony, where we will also honor Teachers of Promise and Teachers of the Year.

Nominations will close January 15 at 5PM

All Austin ISD staff, students, family, and community members are invited to nominate Austin ISD staff members in the following categories:

Campus Clerical/Office Support Staff of the Year
Teaching Assistant of the Year
Custodial/Facilities Maintenance Staff of the Year
Transportation Staff of the Year
Food Service/Warehouse Staff of the Year
Campus Safety and Security Staff of the Year
Librarian of the Year
Counselor of the Year
Assistant Principal of the Year (Includes Academy Directors & Academic Deans)
Principal of the Year

Cold weather shelters will open overnight tonight, Sunday, Jan. 5 - Thursday, Jan. 9.

Go to One Texas Center (OTC), 505 Barton Springs Road from 6-8pm to register for overnight shelter. Bus routes to the OTC are lines: 1, 7, 10, 20, 30, 105, 142, 801. Anyone seeking a cold weather shelter who does not have the means to pay the fare will still be given a ride.

Starting this Friday, November 1st, at 8 AM, the City is reopening its I Belong In Austin rental assistance program to support our communities facing housing instability./A partir de este viernes 1 de noviembre, a las 8 a. m., la Ciudad reabrirá su programa de asistencia de alquiler I Belong In Austin para apoyar a nuestras comunidades que enfrentan inestabilidad de vivienda.

Eligible households can apply for help with rent, moving, storage, and relocation costs through our trusted partner, El Buen Samaritano./Los hogares elegibles pueden solicitar ayuda con los costos de alquiler, mudanza, almacenamiento y reubicación a través de nuestro socio de confianza, El Buen Samaritano.
