ASA Awarded Grant!
Allegiance was recently awarded a Cultivating Innovation in STEAM Schools grant for $9,200 from the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Alliance for Education and the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. ASAβs grant submission was one of 10 elementary schools in the county to receive this funding.
To support the countyβs objective of creating or enhancing a STEM learning space to strengthen and enhance STEM learning and promote STEM career exploration, we will be investing in indoor hydroponic stations for both of our STEAM Labs.
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil and allows plants all year long. Students will design the different levels of the garden, choose seeds, assist with the building of the hydroponic stations, and care for our plants. In addition, students will be exposed to career opportunities surrounding hydroponic gardening.
