Dear Warrior Family,

I hope you are doing well as we enjoy memories of a wonderful Homecoming 2023. It was great to see so many students and families at the variety of activities last week. Homecoming participation continues to grow and we are excited to see it become an important community event.

I also want to take this opportunity to update you on the progress we’ve made on our strategic planning process. Thank you to all who submitted surveys and participated in focus groups.

We have collected valuable information from a variety of communities we serve. In addition to the community-wide survey, we conducted several focus group sessions with students, staff, families, business representatives, feeder district administrators and more to guide future planning.

A strategic planning committee made up of a cross section of the community will start meeting next week to analyze feedback from the survey and focus groups. They will work with our consultants, Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates to prepare a framework for the strategic plan.

We are very pleased with the community involvement in our strategic planning process, and we look forward to sharing more updates as it evolves. Our strategic plan will build on last year’s work to develop a Portrait of a Graduate for McHenry Community High School.

Representatives from participating businesses and organizations say they appreciate the annual event because it is always well attended, and families and students ask great questions.

Yearbook photo retakes are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at both school buildings. Photo retakes will be taken in the Commons Area at Freshman Campus and the Gym Lobby at Upper Campus.

For the 2022-23 yearbooks, they are tentatively scheduled to be distributed during the week of Oct. 16. More information to come!
