Thanks for a great first week!
We did it!
Thanks to everyone- students, staff and families for a great first week at NFHS! Everyone is excited by the opportunities our new school has to offer, and has handled all of the bumps in the road with flexibility and understanding. If the first few days are any indication, this is going to be a fantastic year!
Shout out to Mr. Drew!
We've all had a lot of adapting to do as we moved to the new NFHS, but special recognition this week to Mr. Drew! Transporting the program he's been running since 1975(!) to a new facility has created some unique challenges, and he has dealt with them in a way that is a model for students and adults alike! Thank you Mr. Drew!

Procedure Updates
Be on time every time!
The best way to maximize learning is to be on time to school and to class every day. With levels of chronic absenteeism on the rise nationwide, it's more important than ever for students to develop good habits around being punctual and being present.
Students should be in the school building no later than 7:10 each day to be on time to class. If students are being dropped off or are seniors driving themselves, please be sure they get here on time. Aside from attendance consequences, we want our students here all day, every day!
Food in School
As we made clear this week, the only area of the building that high school students may have food is in the dining commons. In order to ensure the health of all students and the cleanliness of our school, no food is allowed in classrooms. The only drink allowed in class is water for the same reasons. We need to be sure our classrooms are safe for students who have food allergies.
Breakfast
Free breakfast is available to all students from 7:00am into the second block at 9:30am.
Students should get to school at 7:00 to take advantage of breakfast if they do not have a study hall early in the day.
If students bring in outside food or beverage at the beginning of the day, they may finish it in the dining commons, but will be marked tardy if they do not get to class by 7:15.
Passes During Lunch
All students must eat their lunch in the dining commons. If students wish to see a teacher during the lunch period, they need to get a written pass from the teacher before the lunch period. Food is not allowed outside the dining commons.
Course Add/Drop Period Ends Tuesday
Course add/drop ends on Tuesday, September 12 at the end of the school day.
Students should make an appointment to see their school counselor if they need to make a change.
No changes can be made after this date.
