Where Everyone Can Succeed
It’s nearly the end of the 2022 school year and the students are still enjoying a large variety of activities.
- Congratulations to the 87 Glendore students who graduated from the Children’s University last week. It was a pleasure to present these certificates in the Great Hall at Newcastle University.
- Well done to the Year 5 touch football team and the Stage 3 Rugby Union team who displayed excellent sportsmanship and had a fun day competing against other schools.
- We are busy preparing for next year. If you are leaving or know a family who will be enrolling please contact the office.
- If your child isn’t starting at school on the first day of next year it is important to fill out a leave form so their class placement will be kept.
- I am looking forward to seeing the Glendore community back onsite for the Celebration days in week 10. Please check day and time in the newsletter.
- Please support the P&C by donating items to the Christmas Raffle. Children are to take items to the classroom. Purchase of raffle tickets can be done through Flexischools or cash (tickets will be sent home next week)
- I love to read all the positive emails that are sent to the school and teachers, praising them for the outstanding job they are doing both in and outside the classroom. I create a special award for these teachers with your beautiful comments on them. Please keep the emails coming they really make the staff smile.
- I’m looking forward to attending party day offsite and the Year 6 Graduation. I remember these students starting kindergarten 7 years ago.
- AP's and Principals “Above and Beyond letters” are being sent home to acknowledge students who are going above and beyond at school. The AP’s and myself present these letters to individual students. Congratulations to the students who have received these very special letters.

- If any other families learn between now and the end of the year that their child is leaving Glendore, we would appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible, as it influences our enrolment numbers, class structures and 2023 planning.
- Please email the office to inform us if you are leaving our wonderful school.
- If you are planning on applying for extended leave, please ensure your application is completed and approved by the end of the Term.
- If you know anyone who is planning to enrol at Glendore in 2023, please tell them to contact our Office on 49556644 to arrange an enrolment meeting.
End of Year
- With the end of 2022 fast approaching, I'd like to thank all Parents/Caregivers for their support of their child's education at Glendore Public School. It's been lovely to see and hear about students successes and achievements throughout the year.

- Congratulations to our student Jenson Higgins of 3N on winning the Cadet 9 Newcastle Kart Racing Club championship on the weekend!
- This is Jensons first year of kart racing and has got tongues wagging within the sport about his natural ability and skill to successfully compete at a high level, racing wheel to wheel at speeds nudging 95km/hr!
- We wish him well as he steps up to Cadet 12 in 2023.
- The NSW Department of Education is introducing a menstrual hygiene program in every NSW public school. As part of the program, schools will receive dispensers that provide free pads for students to access during school hours.
- Our menstrual hygiene program aims to reduce any barriers that may prevent students from participating fully in school life. Menstruation (and its unpredictability) may stop students from attending school or taking part in learning activities. There are also known health risks from using improvised sanitary hygiene products.
- In 2020, the program was successfully trialled in 31 schools, with positive feedback received from Principals and students alike. It is now time to introduce the program at our school.
- Visit edu.nsw.link/MHP for further information which is avaiable in English and 8 other languages.
- BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is an educational program where students are able to bring a personal electronic device to school to support their learning for school-related purposes.
- We are excited to announce that in 2023, all students in Years 3-6 will continue to have the opportunity to be involved in our BYOD program. This was after the success of the program in 2021.
- The school provides access to a filtered Wi-Fi internet service. The Department of Education supplies a variety of software including Microsoft Office 365 suite and Adobe Creative Suite. Along with this is a wide array of cloud based solutions including Google Apps, Microsoft Cloud services and cloud based file storage. Additional information can be found here. The Glendore Groove
