From the Principal
Ranger Patrons,
Raymond Park IMS and MSD Warren Township will be a spring break during the week of March 29. This is a one-week break this year, and students are scheduled to return to school on Monday, April 5 (black schedule and 5th grade in-person) or Tuesday, April 6 (gold schedule). All Warren families are invited to participate in Warren's Spring Break meal distribution on Tuesday, March 30, from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Moorhead Community Resource Center.
ILEARN testing will be on the schedule shortly after we return from spring break. Practice tests will be given the week of April 12 with the actual test beginning the week of April 19. In-person students will test over a series of consecutive instructional days during the morning and then engage in live instruction for the remainder of the day. Virtual students will be taking the practice and actual tests at Raymond Park on targeted dates. Information for virtual students at each grade level was provided in an email to virtual families on March 25. General information for virtual students can also be found in this ILEARN 2021 3rd-8th Grade Fully Virtual Families document.
Families of both in-person and virtual students that have questions are encouraged to contact their student's grade level counselor. Contact information is provided at the bottom of this newsletter.
MSD Warren Township would love to hear YOUR thoughts on how we’re doing with health and safety measures, communication, and family needs. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. The completion window has been extended to April 12.
Incoming kindergarten students (age five before October 1) and their families are invited to attend Kindergarten Kick-off on Monday, April 19, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., happening at all nine of our elementary school locations. Take a school tour, meet our kindergarten team, and get all of your questions answered about kindergarten. Online Kindergarten Enrollment opens April 5.
Events of this school year beyond anyone's control have pushed and pulled students, staff and families in unimaginable ways. I am hopeful that this spring break allows you and yours to enjoys some time of relaxation and recreation. We look forward to welcoming our Rangers back the week of April 5!
Proud to be a Ranger,
John Kleine
Principal
Rewrites/Reruns:
Raymond Park extends congratulations to students that made our Term 3 Academic Honor Rolls. An outstanding achievement during any school year, the challenges connected to this year's pandemic make this accomplishment particularly noteworthy - CONGRATULATIONS!
Safety. RP will continue to follow the SAFE Reopening Plan to better ensure everyone's safety during the pandemic. Students are reminded that face masks and social distancing are required. Frequent handwashing and sanitizing will also be scheduled into the daily schedule. Recent updates from health officials discourage the use of face shields as a replacement for face masks. All MSD of Warren Township staff and students should wear face masks unless an extenuating circumstance exists and a face shield is needed. School administrators may approve the use of a face shield in these cases.
Students should not attend school if they are close contacts to a positive Covid case, are awaiting results of a Covid test or exhibit two or more of the following: ● A fever of 100.0° F or greater ● Cough ● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing ● Sore throat ● Fatigue ● Chills ● Muscle or body aches ● Headache ● Congestion or runny nose ● Nausea or vomiting ● Diarrhea ● New loss of taste or smell.
Tech Support. Warren is expanding our technology help desk hours at Moorhead Community Resource Center! Our new hours will be Monday-Friday from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. K-4 VIRTUAL students with iPad issues should be brought here. Chromebooks can still be brought to any of the three Intermediate Middle Schools during school hours, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, or the Chromedesk at the High School during 1st and 2nd period, Monday - Friday. If you cannot access the above times and locations for some reason, you can also submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ here.
Now, more than ever, we need to honor and recognize the great work of Warren Township teachers! Here’s your chance to recognize an exemplary Warren teacher. The week of May 3rd is Teacher Appreciation Week! To celebrate teachers, Warren Arts & Education Foundation is doing fun giveaways for the entire week. Your favorite teacher can win $100 and other fun giveaways. Submit your nomination on or before April 2.
