263rd Issue - August 18, 2023
From the Desk of Mike Shukis
Dear Marian Families & Students,
As Superintendent of Marian Central Catholic High School, it is my pleasure to welcome all of you to the 2023-2024 school year! For the faculty and staff, we are all very excited to have the students back in our classrooms and hallways, filling them with their youthful energy and enthusiasm. Every new school year reminds me that this new beginning provides all of us with the opportunity to begin again with renewed faith and trust in all that God has in store for us both individually and collectively. Together with our administration, teachers, and staff, it is our privilege to lead this wonderful community with passion and perseverance and to serve our families and students. Our spiritual theme this school year is taken from the Eucharistic Prayer, Taken, Blessed, Broken, Given. “Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” – Matthew 26:26. This supports the national Catholic Eucharist Revival – A Grassroots response to God’s invitation. It is our hope that all our students, families, faculty, and staff keep this scripture in mind during our daily prayers and reflections.
I am also very excited to announce that we now have air conditioning throughout the school in all our classrooms. Our first-floor classrooms were completed a few days before school started coupled with the second floor AC that was installed last year, we feel truly blessed to be able to offer a much more comfortable learning environment for our students and faculty. I look forward to whatever this school year has in store for us and the opportunity to enjoy each day with our students. I sincerely believe that we have the best teachers, staff, students, and family around. It is going to be a great school year!
