Coffman Parents
We have had a fantastic start to the second semester here at Coffman!
This week's newsletter is filled with important information including updates on the 23-24 student scheduling process. Please take a moment to discuss with your student their interests and future learning goals. Current classroom teachers and school counselors are also great resources for academic planning.
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping make Coffman a wonderful place!

2023-2024 Scheduling Information
January 11th kicks off the scheduling season for students in grades 9-11! On January 11th, students will be provided with scheduling planning forms, updates about new programming and advisement from current teachers regarding future course selection. Students are encouraged to review the Course & Career Planning Site for descriptions of the various courses offered in DCS.
Between January 11th and schedule collection, students are highly encouraged to work with their current teachers regarding next level placement and course options. Beginning January 25th, out of math classes, students will meet individually with their counselor to finalize course selections. Schedule collection will take place over two weeks. Please look HERE for the day your child will meet individually with their school counselor. We ask that your child come prepared with the schedule planning form completed and entered into SchooLinks.
High school course selection is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore interests and expand learning. We encourage students to select a schedule that is a healthy balance of rigor and interest. The master schedule is created each spring based on student requests this winter. Please consider your requests carefully. Once students' schedules are finalized, it is often not possible to make changes because classes are filled.
Feel free to reach out to your child's school counselor with any scheduling related questions.
