Pink Shirt Day Orders
The school community can order their pink shirts using the online store: www.iwpromotions.ca/pinkshirtday A copy of the sizing chart is attached below. The order will be shipped to the school.
The online store closes on January 31st. Orders will be shipped in early-mid February to ensure that they reach the school in time for Pink Shirt Day on February 28th.
School Distict Operations Integrated into Provincial Government
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has completed the integration of the former Newfoundland and Labrador English School District. The NLSchools brand will now represent the K-12 English public school system in Newfoundland and Labrador. All school-facing functions (including the daily operations of schools), teacher hiring and allocation, and school transportation remain unchanged.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure will undertake new responsibilities, which include the daily operations of student transportation, as well as supporting maintenance services to school facilities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
The new website for NLSchools is www.nlschools.ca.

Parents Empowering Kids Program
The Strongest Families Institute (SFI) is once again offering their Parents Empowering Kids Program (PEK) for children 3-12 years old and their caregivers. Learn to deal with common child behaviour problems such as temper outbursts, not listening, verbal and physical aggression, and difficulties paying attention. You will learn how to manage challenging behaviours and situations. You will receive a full toolkit to help you and your child track your journey. This will include a parent handbook and DVD and/or a login to our secure website, behaviour chart for home, a daily report card for the school, and weekly sessions with your coach. This is available in English and French as well as the choice of one-on-one coaching or group-based with other parents dealing with similar challenges.
The program skills have been proven to overcome child behaviour problems. SFI has helped thousands of families resolve presenting problems and their goal is to build on the strengths of caregivers. To learn more or refer directly.
