The 2022 Walk A Thon was an incredible success! Even though this event is over, you can still make donations. We want to send an enormous thank you to all the students and families who supported this event by helping to raise funds!

The Walk A Thon was just the start of many upcoming events at Rowayton. Before the end of October, we will have Walk, Bike, or Roll to School day this Wednesday, Unity Day on the 19th, Rock Your School Day on the 21st, and Rowayton Pumpkins on Parade at 2:00pm on the 28th!

The Rowayton Green Team will be hosting Walk, Bike, or Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 12. This a great opportunity to come together as a school, encourage physical activity, and promote safety in our neighborhoods and near the school. Please remember to follow all safety protocols on your way to and from school that day. Students that Walk or Bike to school will receive a sticker for participating.

Learning to Look lessons have started! Learning to Look is Rowayton School’s volunteer-led art history program. This fun and engaging volunteer program enriches our children’s lives by teaching them about art found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Learning to Look lessons and projects are taught by the volunteers in each classroom six times per year, generally with six different volunteers teaching one lesson each. Calling all Rockstars! Friday, October 21 is worldwide Rock Your School Day. Teachers around the world will be building excitement for learning by delivering out of the box and engaging lessons to their students! Students can show how much they ROCK their learning by dressing like their favorite rockstar. There will be live musical performances on our front lawn that day!

The Silent Disco is back by popular demand! Mark your calendars for FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at the Shore & Country Club and get ready to “dress your genre” to go see three dueling DJs compete for your attention. Advance ticket sales open soon for optimal pricing, so keep an eye on those emails and our social media pages for more info. Ask those who have been because this is the NOT TO BE MISSED event of the year!

We are so excited to already have our students experiencing learning opportunities off campus! Three grade levels have attended or will attend field trips this month. In order to keep our students easily identifiable when we are in a new setting, we are going to ask that all students dress in similar colors when on a field trip. Please check with your child's classroom teacher to see what color shirt the class in wearing for field trips. Thanks for your continued support!

Students at Rowayton contributed to a bulletin board that celebrates our diversity and differences. Students labeled tracings of their hands with the people or things that make their lives and backgrounds unique. Special shout out to Mrs. Msaad for helping bring this beautiful board to life!

On Wednesday, October 19, NPS is going to celebrate Unity Day and wear orange. Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in October 2011, is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. This is a day when we can come together in one giant, ORANGE message of hope and support. The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange. Mark your calendars to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
