Principal's Message
Dear Yowell Families,
Wow!!! What an exciting moment to welcome each of you to Yowell Elementary. We are eager to see how much you've grown over the summer and to meet our newest Stallions. We are welcoming over 100 new students to Yowell this fall. Speaking of meeting new students, tomorrow is Meet the Teacher Day from 1-6pm. Please come to meet your child's teacher and drop off their supplies if you already have them. This will make the first day less cumbersome for our students.
Bus routes have been posted and will continue to be updated as students enroll. You can find our bus routes via this link. Find your address in the left column and from there you will find your bus stop and times. Please be patient the first week of school as transportation works through their routes. The school will write the times of bus departures on this sheet. Please add this to your home screen so you can have up to the moment information about when the bus leaves.
If your child is a car rider please pick up your car rider numbers in the cafeteria while you are visiting the school. Having your numbers on the first day of school will make our car rider line move at a better pace. If you still need to sign up, you can via this link. Speaking of car rider line, I want to make a few general announcements for morning drop off and pick up.
You may already know the procedures, but the 100+ new parents don't - be patient.
Some kids will be woken up from their late summer sleep-ins, so getting their backpacks might take a moment.
There are some moms and dads dropping off for the first time and just need a moment to wipe a tear.
Wait for a staff member to open your door - never let your child out without a staff member.
Students in the cafeteria waiting to have their number called will have to learn the process as well.
Remember to show your number when coming into Yowell and STAY IN THE LANE ASSIGNED.
There will be new staff and they may not recognize you or your vehicle right away.
PK and K students will walk slowly... their bodies and brains will be tired!
Please know we love your kids and want them safely in and out of your cars as quickly as possible too! We have families to go home to as well! So, turn on some happy music, and think of how you will get your student to share more about their day besides saying "good". Smile and wave to the staff working in the warm sun, they too will need your positive energy.
We are beyond thrilled to have everyone back to school this year. As we begin a new school year, I ask for your patience and kindness. With the retirement of Ms. Hicks we are bound to have some bumps in the road but we will work through them. Please know everything we do is in the best interest and safety of all our students. With that said, starting Wednesday all visitors, including adults coming for lunch will be asked for their ID to sign in. This is solely to ensure student safety. Please remember this if you are prompted to go back to your car for your ID, it is for the safety of all students.
We strive to be the best school for your child. Keeping them safe is our number one priority. We are looking forward to tomorrow when our building is full of Stallions again!

GOTR Registration for Yowell is NOW OPEN!
- Registration is open for our fall Girls on the Run season.
- The first session of the 10 week season will be the week of September 4th.
- Practices will be Tuesday/Thursday from 4-5:30 pm.
- There are a limited number of spaces for Girls on the Run at Yowell.
- Once registration closes girls will be selected via a lottery.
- Our very own Mrs. Yost is our new GOTR coach!

CCPS requests that you complete a free/reduced lunch application for your student(s). Please click here to complete the application.
Transportation Information
In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here.
We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.
