We wish our families a safe and fun Halloween. As our little ghosts and goblins prepare for a night of trick or treating, we wanted to share a few safety reminders.

1. Avoid allowing smaller children to go tricker-treating alone.
2. Inspect all candy before children are allowed to eat it. Throw out any candy that is not wrapped or that does not appear to be a recognized brand.
3. Advise children to never enter a stranger's home.
4. Never invite tricker-treaters into your own home.
5. Set a time limit and a curfew for children to return home.
6. Remind children to never accept a ride from a stranger or anyone without your permission.
7. Instruct children to stay with the group. Never allow anyone to lag or to be left behind.
8. Stay on the sidewalks and avoid walking in the street.
9. Know the route your child is taking if they are going out with a group.
10. Remind children to look both ways before crossing the street.
