PIC Parent Update

Happy Friday PIC Community,

Wishing everyone a Happy December. Students and staff have been hard at work. This week in the lunchroom, students have been participating in the 12 Days of Math Challenge. Students have been tackling math problems to earn raffle tickets for a prize led by Mrs. Grimmett our Math Specialist. Currently, Volleyball, Writers Workshop, Mathletes, and Band are keeping us busy after school. Our talented fourth-grade students put on an amazing Winter Concert last night at the high school. Additionally, the fourth graders will be heading to the Museum of Science and Industry for their field trip on December 13th. Lastly, we will be taking our Winter NWEA MAP Assessment next week. We are packing a lot in before we head off to winter break. Be sure to check out our Spirit Week Flyer below.

Students and teachers in our Specialized Instruction class are taking Hot Chocolate Orders and delivering them to each classroom. If you have not already, please send in the permission slip that was sent home (also linked below) no later than December 15th.

Students will be taking their Winter NWEA MAP assessment next week. Grade-level specific dates are listed below. We kindly ask that your child come prepared by having a good night's sleep and breakfast. Additionally, please be sure your student has functioning headphones, mouse, and a charged Chromebook. Winter NWEA MAP reports will be sent home with Quarter 2 report cards on January 12th.

Meet Mrs. Jensen, PIC's Speech Pathologist. Mrs. Jensen services students at PIC as well as at Peotone Jr. High. Mrs. Jensen is a resident of Peotone along with her husband and two sons.. When she is not busy teaching speech, she likes to watch hockey, listen to music, and travel. She is also a big fan of dad jokes and puns. One day she would like to learn how to play the guitar.
