CFF NEWSLETTER
October 5, 2020
Dear Community Families,
October is HERE and hopefully everyone is settling down to the routine while staying healthy!
We all came together during the 6 weeks of Pledge Drive which ended on Friday, THANK YOU so much to all the families that participated! Did you see the Pledge Drive video? If not, you've got to see it and give us a Thumbs Up! THANK YOU to RoseMary Hall (5th Grade Family) for editing the video and all the parent contributors for making this video possible. If you haven't pledged yet, it's not too late. Pledge will continue until we reach 100%...help us get there and DONATE NOW! We appreciate your generosity and support!
By now, you should have heard from your Room Parents introducing themselves and explaining why they are collecting room funds. Thank you to Tanya Lopez and Laura Scott for leading the Room Parents Team.
The CFF Board of Directors and Committee Chairs are working hard on a variety of events to support our school during the next few months, if you have not joined a committee yet, please click on the Volunteer link below to join a team. It's fun, a great way to meet other parents, work on projects/committees that you are passionate about and it counts toward the 35 volunteer hours per family.
Until next time ... stay safe and healthy!
Sincerely,
Stefania Willens
CFF President

Spooktacular Car Parade!
Decoration Donations/Loans Needed
OCTOBER 29 & 30th at our October Distribution, CMCS is planning a Halloween car parade on the upper yard for our October distribution day with a sweet treat for our students! Over the next couple weeks, we'll be sharing details and asking for donations/loans of the following items to help decorate the upper yard:
- Giant spiders
Tombstones (the bigger the better)
Skeletons (2D is probably best - for hanging in our spooky tunnel)
Crows
Scarecrow
- Pumpkins (a donation from a grocery store or farmers' market or plastic, felt, poster board, papier-mâché, plastic, etc.)
- Hay bales
- Black cat, owl, bat
- Día de los Muertos themed items
You can start gathering items now! We'll have more details soon about how to get us your items and what else is needed!
*Please no items that require electricity! CMCS is in a fire hazard zone and we want to ensure the safety of all involved. Families will be expected to stay in their car at all times. Please do not bring anything else/other treats to distribute as only items from the school will be distributed at the event.

PLEDGE DRIVE!
THANK YOU to 249 families (55% participation) and counting that are participating in our Pledge Drive!
Your generosity and support means so much to our school, students, staff and teachers.
These families have pledged $158,242 TOTAL, and we have already collected $122,256 so far in the last 6 weeks. Bravo!
CLASS PARTICIPATION: Remember -- the first class in the lower grades (K-3) and upper grades (4-5) to reach 100% participation, will get a Yogurtland Party and their teacher will get a $100 stipend ! Room 18 is leading lower grade with Room 7 in close second. Room 15 in upper grade is so close, but Room 16 and Room 25 could catch up very fast! See the complete participation chart below!
INDIVIDUAL INCENTIVES: Please note that these are rough estimates as many families dropped off or mailed checks in the last week. We hope to share the final results of our 6 weeks Pledge Drive next week! Every family that contributed to the Pledge Drive by Friday, 10/2/20 will be eligible for our individual donor Pledge Drive Incentives! More information about how the incentive drawing will work will be shared next week. Let's not forget the Employer Matching Gift Program, check with your employer and see if they offer this benefit.
YOU CAN STILL PLEDGE: Pledge Drive will continue UNTIL we hit 100%, let's band together and make it happen now!
