How Hour of Code 2021 showed us #CSEverywhere
This year, students and teachers used Hour of Code to explore the awesome relationship that computer science has with different subjects in school, different industries, and even different career paths. Thanks to you, this Hour of Code was full of creative connections!
Your hard work helped make this Hour of Code such a success! If you enjoyed the Poem Art or Hello World activities for Hour of Code and are looking for other ways to help students make meaningful connections between CS and other disciplines, check out CS Connections, a new set of cross-curricular modules, projects, and lessons.

Opportunities for Teachers:
New Self-Paced Professional Learning Modules
Last summer, Code.org launched its first self-paced professional learning module designed to help teachers get started teaching CS Discoveries. I'm excited to share the launch of two more self-paced modules for teachers:
- Teaching AP Computer Science Principles: This self-paced online module is intended as an introduction to CS Principles and the resources offered for APCSP 9th-12th grade teachers.
- Teaching AI and Machine Learning: This self-paced online module is intended as an introduction to the optional unit on AI and Machine Learning (AI/ML). While AI/ML is a CS Discoveries unit and its content is not covered on the AP CSP exam, some teachers may choose to teach it as an add-on to CS Principles.
New CS Journeys Career Chats, Adventures, and more!
Take your class on a CS Journey this spring! Students are more likely to connect with material when given opportunities to see how it's used in the real world. Check out the easy-to-use resources in CS Journeys designed to help you excite, encourage, and empower your students.
Starting January 24th, keep an eye out for a fresh slate of opportunities to sign up for career chats and virtual field trips with partners like Spotify, Oculus, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium!
