The Earth Optimism club at CMIT is now running an E-waste collection drive till the end of the year.
This drive's goal is to collect all electronic waste so that it can be disposed of somewhere other than a landfill or the Chesapeake Bay, which both contribute significantly to pollution.
We invite both students and their parents or guardians to bring any e-waste they may have lying about at home. Batteries, outdated chargers, and even ink cartridges are all being collected. Simply bring the e-waste into the main office, where there are bins labeled for the various sorts you are bringing in. There will be a bin for other goods if you are unsure of what category it belongs to. A paper containing instructions on what you CAN and ABSOLUTELY CANNOT put in the bins will also be provided.
including computers and phones, in. It's crucial to remove all of your personal information from your devices before giving them up.

Earth Optimism Club
For the past few weeks, the students of Earth Optimism have been diligently working together to help reduce waste in our school and provide birds a new home to nest in this spring. In order to make this happen, club members spent the last meeting constructing bird houses, which they hope to paint and finish this coming week. Others have been putting together a compost tumbler to help educate students the benefits of composting during Science classes. These are just two parts of our plan to make CMIT North and Prince George’s County a more eco friendly place!
