Academic Coaching
- Students can meet with an Academic Coach to create a success plan for this semester. Our Academic Coaches are supporting students as they navigate this new normal. Students can schedule a virtual, face-to-face appointment with an Academic Coach via sage.uga.edu
Academic Success at Georgia
- Students can access our online resources via our Academic Success at Georgia at any time. This page includes tips, strategies, and resources for six core areas of academic success including time management, note-taking skills, study strategies, reading comprehension, test prep, and writing skills.
Peer Tutoring
- DAE Peer Tutors are trained and ready to support undergraduate students in over 100 of UGA's most rigorous courses including writing tutoring for ALL writing assignments at UGA. Students can schedule a virtual, face-to-face appointment or study pod with a Peer Tutor via our brand new scheduling platform, Penji. Presentation Collaboratory
- Students can meet with our Communications Consultant to receive assistance with any part of their presentation or public speaking preparations. Whether they are just starting to create a presentation or want feedback on a speech, we are here to help! Students can schedule a virtual, face-to-face appointment with our Communications Consultant via sage.uga.edu.
Student Success Workshops
- Student Success Workshops are a great way to learn and practice a new skill in a small group setting. Whether it’s learning how to maximize a schedule or sharpen note-taking skills, our workshops will help students step up their academic skills. This fall, all of our workshops will be offered in a virtual, face-to-face format via Zoom. Faculty and staff can now view all of our available workshops online and request virtual, face-to-face workshops for their classes or other student groups.

UGA Libraries
Every college or major has an assigned specialist librarian for that subject who can help you with finding and evaluating sources for your papers. You can make an appointment to meet with a library specialist.
You can also get drop-in assistance online though Chat with a Librarian or drop-in at any of the UGA Libraries’ locations

Exploratory Center, 114 Memorial Hall,
- The University of Georgia has created the Exploratory Center to work closely with all kinds of exploring and undecided students – everyone from students who are not 100% sure about their major; students who don’t have a clue about the 130 majors, 87 minors and 49 certificate programs that are available to them; and those students who simply need help navigating UGA’s vast academic environment. We want you to know that it’s okay to be undecided and that you are not alone!

Wellness Coaching supports an individual’s own motivations and strengths. Students will map their path for positive behavior change(s) through a collaborative, unbiased partnership.
A Wellness Coach will work with you to:
- Set and achieve personal goals
- Initiate and sustain wellness behaviors
- Balance dimensions of health and wellbeing
- Learn resilience and coping skills
- Identify potential barriers to change and develop strategies to move forward

Addiction and Dependency

- Providing prevention, early intervention and recovery support services.
- For students who have made a commitment to lead sober, healthy lives, the Collegiate Recovery Community provides an environment in which students recovering from addiction can find peer support as well as other recovery support services while navigating their own college experience.
Relationship Violence/Sexual Abuse and Assault

- Surviving interpersonal violence and reaching out for help takes tremendous courage and strength. Whether you have been recently assaulted, know someone who has been affected by abuse, or are healing from past trauma, staff members at RSVP, located within the University Health Center, are here to support you. We can act as a personal coordinator/liaison (advocate) between you and law enforcement, medical personnel, the University, mental health care professionals, and other agencies or services.
- Services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.
- We help ensure that you get the information and support you need, that you are listened to, and that you are treated with the sensitivity and respect every victim/survivor deserves.

- The mission of Student Care & Outreach (SCO) is to coordinate care and assistance for all students, undergraduate and graduate, who experience complex, hardship, and/or unforeseen circumstances, by providing individualized assistance and tailored interventions.

Business Hours Walk-in Crisis Services - No phone calls needed. Just walk in to CAPS.
After Hours Mental Health Crisis: 706-542-2273 (now goes directly to on-call counselor)
- CAPS services are now offered at no cost for students taking 7 or more credit hours. If those students have health insurance, the insurance is billed, but students do not have to pay anything out of pocket.
- For students taking 6 or fewer credit hours, grants are available to help cover out of pocket expenses.

- Based within the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services, we are a mental health clinic that serves all ages in the community as well as UGA students, faculty, and staff. Our services are provided by graduate clinicians in training under the supervision of department faculty. Services offered include assessment for learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD

- At the ASPIRE Clinic, we believe that problems don’t exist in isolation. When there is a struggle in one area of our lives, other things are likely impacted too. We offer an array of services that include individual, couple, and family therapy, financial counseling and education, home environment and design, nutrition counseling and education, and also legal problem solving. All of our collaborative services can help you feel a greater sense of wholeness and happiness.

- NAMI on Campus UGA is a student organization dedicated to fighting the stigma surrounding mental illness and helping the community through advocacy, educational programs, and volunteer work.
You’re Not Alone, 102 Tate Student Center
- This organization’s purpose is to promote awareness for mental illnesses and to help those who struggle with mental illnesses. Further we wish to educate specifically about mental illnesses and help to build a community that is supportive of anyone struggling with a mental illness. YNA seeks to break the silence surrounding mental illnesses through the personal stories and struggles of students as well as through events on campus to promote awareness.
Grief Support
- AMF (Actively Moving Forward) at UGA is a service and support group at UGA and is a chapter of National Students of AMF that supports college students who are coping with a loss or illness of a loved one.

UGA now offers a new (free) mental health resource for students in the form of a 24/7 support line through Christie Campus Health. Students can access resources 24/7 by calling 833-910-3371. You can find more information by visiting the wellness hub here
Great Mental Health App for Students: Nod at UGA
- NOD is an app and service designed by students for students. It’s primary goals are to combat loneliness and assist students with building meaning social connections.
- Here is how you can access Nod: Please scan the QR code below on your phone. This will take you to either the Google play or the Apple App Store depending on your device. You can then download, select your school, and enter your single sign on credentials.

Financial Assistance
- This website provides guidance and resources to help students experiencing financial hardship.
- The UGA Student Emergency Fund is available to provide limited, one-time financial assistance to enrolled students who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of temporary hardship related to an emergency situation, such as an accident, illness, death of a family member, natural disaster, or other unforeseen circumstance.

- The Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship is a need-based scholarship that awards meal plans to several UGA students each fall and spring semester, as well as summer terms.

The VA has a wonderful (and free!) ap https://mobile.va.gov/app/cbt-i-coach for people working on getting a better night's sleep and a separate website to walk them through sleep hygiene, keeping a sleep diary, and other basics to get their sleep back on track. https://www.veterantraining.va.gov/insomnia/
Another option to consider is The Science of Well-being course on Coursera. (https://www.coursera.org/learn/the-science-of-well-being) This is not a pandemic specific resource, but more something to check out for adaptive functioning in general. It’s free, taught by a Yale professor, and is aimed towards a high-achieving/perfectionist demographic.
