Hello families!

Third grade students and test retakers took the IREAD3 assessment this week. Scores will be sent home with students on Tuesday. Our High Ability Showcase for grades 3-5 is also on Tuesday. We will celebrate Honor Roll students on Wednesday morning with breakfast for them. Thursday we will celebrate all of the other great accomplishments of our students at Success Time. Don't forget that Spring Break begins on Friday!

It is imperative that students are not dropped off at the front door of the school. All drop-offs should happen using our car rider line. This includes dropping off children who have missed the bus. Additionally, students cannot enter the building before the 8:15 bell. Thank you for helping us safely monitor students.

Registration is now open for the 2023-2024 school year! Registering your child right away helps the district to plan for student and hiring needs. Please go to https://www.decaturproud.org and click on "Returning Student Registration." You will need your Skyward Family Access login information. If you need assistance with this information, please contact your child's school office.
Registering a new Kindergarten student? Please click on "Kindergarten Enrollment (2023-2024)."
Kindergarten Round-Up Events at each elementary school will take place on April 20th, 5:00-7:00 p.m.

At Your School (AYS) is offering a full-day Spring Break camp for Decatur Township
families (Pre-K – 6) at Blue & Gold Academy from March 27-31. This camp will help
empower you and your family to achieve your goals and ensure your Spring Break is as
bright as possible! Families currently enrolled in AYS or waitlisted-register by January 25 for $20 off per child! Registration opens for all families on January 26th.

The district has created a culture guide that highlights the key characteristics of an elite system. At our school, we have been teaching children the concept of E+R=O.

E= Events: We cannot control things that happen

R= Response: We can control our response to the event

O=Outcome: Having a proper response will get the desired outcome.

This concept is powerful for all of us. Daily, many things happen that are out of our control. We can lash out or we can pause, think, and then respond. Pausing for reflection allows us to get the outcome that we need and want.
