UIL Concert & Sight-Reading
Seguin ISD bands and choirs annually prepare for UIL Concert & Sight-Reading evaluation. This is a culmination event that measures the success of a long term learning project. The mastery of standards is evaluated using a UIL rubric by trained adjudicators. Students perform three prepared pieces of music, and then read and perform a piece of music they have never seen before. Congratulations to all on the outstanding results, and good luck to those that will be performing soon!
The color guards work hard for weeks to perfect an entertaining show! They finished their last rehearsal of winter guard season with cupcakes! :)
Ballet Folklórico Receives Awards
Grupo Folklórico De Seguin High School recently received awards earned earlier this year at the North Texas Ballet Folklórico Contest. This is the first year for Ballet Folklórico as a class at Seguin H.S., and this was there very first competition. The group earned a Division II - "Excellent" and also earned the "Anita Martinez Award" for excellence. Congratulations to these students as this group continues to show tremendous growth and success.
Arts Enrichment for Elementary Students
Seguin ISD 4th graders were entertained and enriched with a special presentation on 3/25 from CIMTEYA, a dance company from Texas State University. This group provided an interactive children's program including topics on SEL, Math, Science, the Arts, and More!! It was a great time!
On Monday, April 4, all Seguin ISD 5th graders will enjoy a performance from the Mid-Texas Symphony entitled "Star-Wars & Beyond!" Thank you to our community partners, the Mid-Texas Symphony, for providing this valuable experience for our students!!
Mariachi to Compete in Robstown
Seguin HS Mariachi Matador, AJB Mariachi Toro, and JBMS Mariachi Toreador are all scheduled to compete at the Robstown El Cotton Picker Mariachi Festival on April 9th. Three Seguin ISD students were selected as finalists to compete in the vocal competition at this event! These students are:

Viva La Voz!
Seguin ISD Mariachi students from SHS, AJB, and JBMS recently premiered a mariachi vocal recital "Viva La Voz!" The students performed brilliantly for an enthusiastic audience of supporters. VASE, Jr. VASE, & TEAM
Following enormous success at VASE (Visual Art Scholastic Event) from our participating high school artists, students from the middle school and elementary levels are now entering events for Jr. VASE and TEAM (Texas Elementary Art Meet). We wish all participants the best of luck as they represent their school and community by showcasing their artistic skills!
