School Health Advisory Volunteer Needed

Town Center is in need of a parent volunteer for the Coppell ISD School Health Advisory Committee- SHAC. SHAC is a state-required committee of parents, educators, students, and community stakeholders who come together to identify gaps and take actions to help learners and educators lead healthier lives. The areas of focus are nutritional, physical, and socio-emotional well-being. SHAC plays an important role in communicating the connection between health and learning to school administrators, parents, and community stakeholders.

The SHAC meets five times a year. This year the meetings are via Zoom on the dates listed below. The representative would be responsible for passing on information to the school, whether directly to the principal or via a PTO meeting announcement.

Thurs., October 1, 4:15-5:30 (has already been attended by temporary rep. while we locate a volunteer)

Thurs., November 12, 4:15-5:30

Thurs., January 21, 4:15-5:30

Thurs., March 25, 4:15-5:30

Thurs., April 29, 4:15 - 5:30

COVID-19 Reminders

Coppell ISD is looking to hire more substitutes, and they are offering a special incentive. When a substitute works 8 jobs within the specified pay period, they earn a special rate of $155 per teaching job and $105 per aide job. Learn more at http://coppellisd.com/HR.

Box Tops for Education

We'd love for all of our TCE staff and families to join us in raising money for our school through the Box Tops for Education App. It's a great way to earn money from an activity you already do each week. Please watch the short video below to see how you can get started. It's as easy as downloading the free app and scanning your receipts! You can also invite your extended family and friends to join you in raising money for TCE. Thank you!

CISD Fall 2020 Family Survey

CISD relies heavily on the voice of our families to help us validate our practices and seek input in areas that need to be improved. The district encourages you to use this avenue to share your voice in our Fall 2020 Family Survey, which can be found at go.coppellisd.com/familyfall2020. Your feedback will help us evaluate our performance and guide our work for the remainder of the school year. In addition, this survey plays a crucial role in our Community-Based Accountability System or CBAS. CBAS uses multiple pillars to measure success, and the more family participation in this survey, the better we can know how we are doing and where we can improve.

We ask that all parents fill out a background check each year in case they choose to volunteer with us at some point.
