NMS Family Weekly Newsletter

Hello NMS families. We understand that there are times where it is tough to get the kids to school on time. Recently we have had some students consistently showing up late to school. Please understand that this is something the building administration needs to address. The consequences for excessive tardies per the parent-student handbook:

• Three unexcused tardies per quarter, such as oversleeping, missing the bus, parents running late, or failure to check in when the student is tardy, will result in an after-school detention. A 4th tardy will result in another after school detention. A 5th tardy will result in a two hour Saturday detention and possible parent conference. Every tardy thereafter will result in detention time as determined by the school administration. Each student will start every quarter with zero tardies.

Each student as of 10/27/23 has zero tardies to school. Beginning on Monday, 10/30/23, the enforcement of this policy will be more closely monitored. Please help get your kids to school on time. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Safety for our students and staff is something we take very seriously here at NMS. Please talk to your children about the seriousness of making threatening comments regarding students, staff, or the school. No comments will be handled as a joke here at Nippersink Middle School and law enforcement will be contacted if comments are made or shared on social media.
