Superintendent Update
Caldwell Parish Schools
Greetings Team Caldwell!
It's hard to believe it's time for Thanksgiving break! We've had a very busy fall packed with lots of learning and extra-curricular activities. Our students are definitely blessed with well-rounded experiences at each of our schools, and for that I am especially grateful. Everything we offer in Caldwell Parish Schools is intentionally designed to give our students the very best opportunities possible.
LDOE released School & District Performance Scores this week, and it is so reassuring to know that our efforts to reengage students and recover learning gaps has paid off. Each school in the district either made gains in overall SPS and/or in the Student Progress index! This is no easy feat, and we appreciate the hard work that goes into making these gains a reality for our students.
We are half way through Year 2 of our district-wide work with ANet and we are encouraged by the gains we are already seeing in our student performance as well as the shifts we are seeing in classrooms as we learn strategies to help our students do the "heavy lifting." We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for in our schools. At the rate we are moving, I know we will see even more gains in next year's SPS/DPS.
Over the next week, I hope you all take time to slow down and enjoy your families and friends. You've all worked so hard and through many obstacles this school year. You definitely deserve the time off! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and know that you are appreciated for all you do for the students of Caldwell Parish!

Teacher Spotlights
Early Childhood Spotlight
Our Early Childhood/Ready Start Network goes above and beyond to involve parents in all aspects of their child’s education. Both Head Start and the Louisiana Early Childhood guidelines require strong parental involvement and our team continues to grow and find new ways to involve all members of the family. Two recent events were the Fall Festival/Veterans Day celebration at Kelly Early Childhood Center and The Parent Picnic at Caldwell PreK Center.
Elementary Spotlight
Mrs. Springfield’s kindergarten class at CES learned how to compare numbers using manipulatives, group discussion and an alligator puppet.
Secondary Spotlight
Mrs. Meadows’ Agriscience I class is introduced to commonly used hand held tools. Students learn the different parts of the tools and how to properly use them.
CTE Spotlight
The FFA Carpentry team went to state competition at the State Fair in Shreveport. Two teams competed where they had to complete a handwritten test and then build a patio table to required specifications.
Also, November is National Career Development Month and both CPJH and CPHS are sharing posts of students and their work spotlighting career exploration and development activities this month.
Student Support
Mrs. Eubanks students completed an escape room complete with pumpkin pie ingredients to help free a Thanksgiving Turkey!
