BEAR CREEK BLAST
February 19th-23rd
Dr. Calvert's Notes:
Bear Creek Families,
We hope you enjoy an extended weekend with the kids! I wanted to thank you once again for the support you show our school. It might seem like a small gesture but each month when our staff lounge fridge is stocked or someone graciously sponsors Sonic drinks for the staff, WE FEEL THE LOVE! We consider it a great privilege to teach your children, thank you for partnering with and trusting us.
School Info & Updates
Student Password Reset
Updating and managing passwords is a critical step in helping to ensure GCISD is protected against cyber threats and our students’ information is safe. On February 22nd, 3rd through 5th grade Bear Creek students will complete a digital citizenship lesson. During this cybersecurity lesson, students will change their Classlink password to a strong password. They will also set up recovery questions and answers in case they forget their password in the future.
Math Telescoping To Do
Testing opportunities for telescoping in Math for the 2024-2025 school year are available in the summer for GCISD students who are completing Grades K-7.
The Parent Information Packet will be available on the District website under the Parents tab by selecting the link for Acceleration Exams, Grades K-7.
The packet will contain the registration form. Payment is made online following the submission of the form.
Parents will also be able to view the TEKS on the TEA website and download Study Guides for the exams purchased from the University of Texas at Austin, UT High School.

If you can’t attend in person, you can shop the book fair from home and still support our school. Don’t want to send cash with your student? Or have a grandparent who lives out of state and wants to give the gift of reading? Purchase a digital gift card! The online fair will run all month long, until our final day, March 8.
Lunch Visitors
Lunch Visitors:
- If you would like to eat lunch with your child, please sign up using the form linked below. We have a limited number of visitor tables set up for each lunch period. Visitors must sit at a designated table with their student only. They may not bring other friends to the visitor table.
- Keeping with our tradition, we will not open the cafeteria to visitors until after September 5th. This allows our students to learn the cafeteria expectations and procedures, as well as make friends at lunch during the first few weeks of school.
- You must bring a valid ID when you come to check in for lunch visits.
- Thank you for your support!
