Ivan Green Weekly Update

Dear IG Families:

Brrrr! It was a cold week - too cold for any outdoor recess. Our students have handled it well. But by the end of the week being cooped up we can feel the extra energy in the building! Keep sending in clothes for outdoor play because we will get out there as soon as it is warm enough!

You are not too late to join us for Lunch with Lancers. The link and information is below.

I hope to have a good crowd at next week's Coffee with the Principal. We will be joined by Superintendent Grow. We will assemble in our cafeteria on Wednesday, January 24 with coffee and a treat for about 45 minutes starting at 9:15. Join us!

January 29-February 2 - Lunch with Lancers

Join us for this informative night with a presentation from the NYS Troopers about how to keep your kids safe while they are using the internet or social media.

This information session is open to all EI families.

We are excited to announce that we will be having LUNCH with LANCERS the week of January 29. We are inviting adult family members to join their Ivan Green student for lunch any day that week. We have sent home an info sheet that includes your child's lunch time. This event will be restricted to the cafeteria (and playground if you would like to go).

To help us celebrate, our kitchen staff is offering some treats (chips and ice cream) for purchase! Normally these snacks are for purchase only on Fridays, but we are offering them all week, whether your child has a grown-up in for lunch or not.

In addition to the snacks, If adults want to purchase an entree, it is $4.00. That includes just the main course, so to round out your meal, we offer a la carte items. Milk $0.75, 4oz. yogurt $0.85, fruit $0.85 and juice $0.60.

Here is some evidence of our busy week! We have first graders building machines with recycled materials and exploring new books in the library. Miss Robson is reading to her class combined with another. Finally, Mrs. Cortellini's students are practicing making a shopping list and then "buying" the items. They even got to use a cash register.
