Scott Davis
A native of Henderson County, Scott Davis has lived in other places, from Paducah to Baton Rouge, but his home and his heart are definitely in Henderson.
He is a 1976 graduate of Henderson County High School and a 1980 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture. While at UK he was an active member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and served as the student representative and the president of the College of Agriculture's Student Council. He is also a 2005 graduate of the graduate school of banking at Louisiana State University.
Upon graduation from college, Scott spent a short stint in ag chemical sales, but soon found his passion was in banking when he was given the opportunity to become Trust Officer and Farm Manager for Ohio Valley National Bank. After a few years in the trust department, he was sought out to work for Louisiana's largest regional bank, Hibernia National Bank in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he managed special asset trusts and administered large family trust relationships.
After a couple of years living outside the bounds of western Kentucky, P.B. & S. Chemical founder and President and Chairman of Ohio Valley National Bank, Ray Preston, tapped Davis to return to Henderson to work with Preston’s diverse enterprise and assist with the formation of the Preston Family Foundation. In 1990 Davis was asked to join the board of directors of Ohio Valley National Bank and in 1995 was named Vice Chairman of the Board. In 2006 Scott succeeded retiring bank president Jerry Wischer as Chief Executive Officer Group merged with Bank Trust Financial and Scott continued on as Chief Executive Officer of the merged organization, which was rebranded as Field & Main Bank. Today, Field & Main Bank is the largest locally domiciled financial institution in Henderson, Kentucky which also has offices in Cynthiana and Lexington, Kentucky, and in Evansville, Indiana. With banking as his career, Scott discovered that his vocation supported an even greater calling by allowing him to be fully engaged in building up the communities his bank serves. According to Davis, “being involved in community banking provides a great opportunity to help other like-minded people in our countries and towns develop a sense of place by engaging in civic, not-for-profit, and professional organizations working to have a positive impact on the places we call home.”
His community-engagement activities support this ideal. Following is a list of Scott’s past and present civic and avocational activities.
