Crusader Families,

We are in the final stretch of the first semester! Students have their last opportunity to make a push to raise their grades. We have plenty of virtual tutoring opportunities available, teachers have office hours every morning from 8:20-8:50am for one-on-one support, and students should be using asynchronous time to complete all of their classwork. We have a whole team of people to help our students be successful.

As you have heard from our district, a decision has been made to bring small groups of students back for support at BVM. Today we started with our first group of 14 students. We will test our procedures and make sure everything is safe for staff and students before hopefully expanding this opportunity. The students were chosen using very specific criteria related to learning loss and they were chosen based on the greatest need and other factors that contribute to the inability to access distance learning. Of course, it is our desire to serve more students and we realize we aren't addressing all students who demonstrate a need. When conditions allow and we have tested our protocols, we hope to expand.

Please remember that Wednesday, November 11th, is Veteran's Day Holiday and there will be no school for students. Thursday and Friday our schedule will be different, as reflected in the schedule above. Thank you to all of our Crusader community who are veterans who have served our country. We salute you!

If you haven't already, please make sure you take a few minutes to check your district email and look for an email from Balfour.com so that you can follow the links provided to submit your own picture for the 2020-2021 Bonita Vista Middle School yearbook. It's very easy and only takes a few minutes. Instructions to submit are below, but you need to find your own personal link that is included in the email that has been sent to you multiple times from Balfour. Please take a minute and search for that email.

BVM will be serving meals to all children in our community every Tuesday from 11am-1pm. No pin number required! Just drive through our BVM driveway to receive your meals.

Our mission during Distance Learning is to provide online access to quality instruction for each student, to provide opportunities for live online interactions and support with teachers, counselors, administrators and support staff and to address the social emotional needs of each student while we work together to ensure their academic success.
