Tonight, the PTO is hosting the Merton Fall Festival. This is a family event so students must be accompanied by their family. There is a chili cook off, pumpkin carving contest, caramel apples, a haunted hallway, and so much more. See the flyers below for more information. We hope to see you there.

As you may or may not know, I am often helping with student drop off in the morning, directing traffic to keep our students safe. To assist with this process, please make sure that you are forming two lines in the drop off lane. This will keep these lines shorter, a necessity for our buses which also use the Intermediate parking lot for student drop off. I appreciate your assistance with this matter.

Next week, the district is celebrating the largest drug prevention campaign in the country, Red Ribbon Week. This is an opportunity to highlight the importance of drug awareness and encourage students to make a commitment to live a healthy and drug free future. As part of the celebration, we will have district-wide Spirit Days. The spirit days are in the poster below.

Arrowhead High School is hosting "Wake Up Call", a life-size exhibit of a teen's bedroom, on Wednesday, October 24th from 6:30-8PM. Please see the flyer below for more information.

Our fall Drug Take Back day is quickly approaching. On October 27th from 10AM to 2PM we will be at the Sussex Pick N Save collecting expired or unused medications along with needles and sharps. Last collection date we collected 22 boxes of medication totaling 289.6 pound and over 150 pounds of needles and sharps.

The Merton Intermediate School Book Fair will run from November 5th-9th. Please see this link for more information and to sign up to volunteer. Thanks for your consideration and support.

We are excited to extend this invitation to you to welcome a veteran in your life to the fourth annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Merton Intermediate School. This year, our ceremony takes place on Friday, November 9th beginning at 9:00am with a complimentary continental breakfast for Veterans and their Merton Intermediate student/staff member followed by a ceremony honoring our veterans from 10:00-11:00 in the Intermediate School gym. Veterans are also invited to visit classrooms in the Intermediate School from 11:00-11:40.

Please use this Google Form to register veterans for this year’s ceremony. We kindly ask that you RSVP by Friday, November 02. On Tuesday, November 13th, the Lake Country Rotary, Your Choice, and the Addiction Resource Council are hosting a parent forum at the North Lake School Library from 6:30-7:30. The topic is vaping, an epidemic that seems to be prevalent with teenage youth. Please see the flyer below for more information.
