Elementary Families,

It is hard to believe that the first days of school are right around the corner. We hope that all of you had a chance to enjoy the summer break and that you are looking forward to a great school year.

We will have our interview days on September 7th and 8th. We are excited to meet with the families and students! Please click the grey button below to sign up for a slot with your student's teacher.

Interview days will include hearing and vision screening in addition to meeting with your child's teacher to receive classroom information and to prepare for what will be a very successful school year. If you are unable to attend, please reach out so we can find another time to connect.

Interview days will be in person this year. Masking at this point is recommended, but not mandatory. Complete "back to school planning" information can be found below in this newsletter.

Pictures will NOT take place on the interview days!

At the end of last year our students had a "move up" day. During the move up day, students had experiences in their classrooms with their new teachers. Please feel free to reach out to the elementary school office for questions on class and teacher placement. Teachers will also send an email out in the coming days to their classes. Teachers return to school on August 30th.

We have a smaller kindergarten class this year which is currently at 56 students. As a result we have moved the kindergarten into three sections. With this move all of our classes still remain below 20 students per class for the kindergarten. The students that were in Mrs. Mueller's class have been placed into Mrs. Bradford, Mrs. Knoll, or Mrs. Vermilyea's classrooms. We will monitor class sizes and adjust accordingly as the year progresses.

Kindergarten teachers will be reaching out to their students if they have not already done so.

Throughout all the changes and challenges this pandemic has presented we continue to be impressed with the resiliency of our students, the high levels of engagement from our parents and community, and the innovative practices that have been implemented by our teachers and staff.

As many of you know, Mr. Schlichting sent out a communication earlier this week explaining our 2021-22 Learning Plan. Please know that this situation will once again be very fluid and adjustments may come throughout the course of the school year. We also wanted to remind you that we do not have the distance learning "Family Flex" option this year. The learning plan is available below for your reference.
