Principal's Message
Good afternoon CHS students and families,
It has been a fantastic first two weeks of school, and it feels like CHS is settling into a nice rhythm. The new wing has brought a vibrant vibe to our school atmosphere. I hope students are enjoying their classes.
At this point in the trimester, students should have assignments to complete at home in some of their courses. Ask your students about their homework and their grades. Have them show you their Studentvue and/or check Parentvue. Feel free to reach out to teachers or counselors with questions. We are here to help!
Next week brings our Club Fair. In addition to our sports and activities, CHS offers a multitude of clubs where students can get involved. We know that engaging in extra and co-curricular activities is key to student success. Please check out the list of clubs who will be represented at our club fair. There is an amazing variety and lots of fun and learning opportunities. Students can visit the tables in the commons during lunch next week to find out more information.
Thanks again for sharing your students with us. Their talents make CHS the happy and proud place that it is.
Have a wonderful week!
Best,
Cari Sloan

Breakfast time!
Would you like to make a difference in your child’s school? Well, here’s how!
Encourage them to try out the School Breakfast Program! Mornings can be hectic and making sure your kids eat a healthy breakfast can be difficult in the thick of the A.M. rush. Fortunately, a nutritious, balanced meal is offered in school at the start of each day! It’s fun, easy, and provides your children with the fuel they need to energize their day and perform their very best. So don’t let them run on empty…give school breakfast a try today!
Athletics and Activities
Schedules:
We have all of our athletics schedule all in one place on our master athletic schedule. This includes game times, locations, and bus departure times. It is updated real-time by your athletic department. Go to this link to see the current schedule, which is subject to change with little notice.
This week in sports, football lost to Oregon City 6-20, volleyball beat Putnam in an exciting 3-2 victory, girls soccer tied Catlin Gable 1-1, boys soccer lost to Aloha 0-6, and Cross Country competed in the Ash Creek Invitational in Monmouth.
Our Cougar Champions for the week are Andy Soles, RayAnne Schedler, Matthew Tamimi, and our Cross Country team.
Andy Soles: Andy’s commitment to the football team, and his pride in his community as well as his determination to better himself and others is inspiring not just to his fellow players, but also his coaches and his community. Andy exudes the characteristics of a champion in all aspects of life and is the true embodiment of a student-athlete.
RayAnne Schedler: RayAnne embodies all the qualities of a champion and more. She is an exemplary young woman who works really hard on and off the court and is a great example of these CHAMPION traits to her teammates. She is wearing #4 this year and there is no one who represents it better than RayAnne.
Matthew Tamimi - Matt recorded a goal and an assist in our first game of the year vs Benson. Not only did he produce a few highlights that day, but he's been a committed teammate. He always spends time watching film to improve his game, and he always tries to do the right thing on the field and in the classroom.
Canby High School's Cross Country teams are working hard to improve their fitness. The group is positive and supportive with each other. We are improving physically and getting tougher mentally.
