Principal Simpson's Message
Greetings PRM Families,
Welcome to March! We have always held a special fondness for March here in our community of PRM. It represents new beginnings in nature and the slow exodus of winter into our beloved spring. We see this same transformation in our students as they begin to shed the skin of another year and become even more confident young learners. It is a wonderful sight to see in the halls of PRM, as we overcome some of the chaos of an epidemic and forge ahead. We are growing through it, not just getting through it.
PRM is growing in more ways than the sheer number of students that we are so fortunate to serve. We continue to work on our building expansion and feel the excitement of the new spaces we will have to continue our work with our students. As mentioned previously, we continue to develop and implement our Montessori Curriculum and provide continuous training for our staff in this regard. Many of our staff members have dedicated time and energy to our goal of the Montessori experience here at PRM.
It is truly an exciting time here at PRM. We are where we are because of our dedicated staff and community. Everything that happens at PRM comes from a true passion and drive to provide all of our students with a welcoming safe community where they can not only learn, but love to learn. Thank you for your continued support of our community.
Love,
Principal Simpson

3-6 News
Hello there. We have enjoyed celebrating Black History month and learning about so many influential black people, past and present, who make a big impact on our world. This is something that we talk about throughout the school year.
We appreciate those parents who were able to attend parent/teacher conferences for the third quarter. We are always grateful to collaborate and get feedback from the parents and caregivers of our families.
We are looking forward to more spring weather, so that we can get out to recess more and more. As weather continues to fluctuate, please be sure that your child is dressed warmly enough to enjoy their time outside. Additionally, our partners from Imago return to teach the Outdoor Education special the week of March 8th. Please be sure that your child wears shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty on their OE day (if you don’t know when it is, contact their teacher).
Remember that Summer Scholars sign-up deadline is March 11th.
Enjoy the extra time with your kids over Spring Break!

ReadyCheckGo COVID-19 Testing Program
Hello parents and guardians of Pleasant Ridge Montessori School ,
We are excited to announce that we’ll be migrating our ReadyCheckGo™ COVID-19 testing program from pooled testing to individual PCR testing.
This new program will start Thursday March 10th and continue every other Thursday thereafter.
Trained personnel will monitor children as they swab their own noses, and Color will provide individual results in 1-3 days.
We’ll no longer be pooling tests, so the results you receive will be for your child only.
Already registered your child for testing? No action needed. You’ll start receiving individual results after testing Thursday the 10th.
If you prefer to opt out of the program completely please visit this site https://www.color.com/hipaa-revoke .
If your child isn’t registered for testing, now is a great time to register. As mask mandates and other mitigation strategies lift, testing remains an easy way to keep your child and our school community healthy.
Register for testing by clicking on this link.
You can also view Frequently Asked Questions about individual testing on this page.
Thank you for doing your part in keeping our Pleasant Hill Montessori community healthy.
Mask Requirement
Be sure that your child has a mask that covers the mouth and nose. Please support us by teaching your child to wear the mask properly covering the mouth and nose except for when eating or during an individual mask break provided by the teacher.

Severe Weather and Emergency Closings Procedures
Severe Weather Procedure — Information for Students & Families
At Cincinnati Public Schools, we want to make sure our students and staff are safe when severe weather or extreme temperatures occur, while maximizing students' time in class.
CPS may close for snow, or for extreme cold or hot temperatures.
When severe weather is predicted, parents should check the CPS website, cps-k12.org, or local television or radio stations, for announcements about school closings or delays.
CPS rarely will dismiss schools early, but it does happen occasionally. Please make sure your child's school office has correct emergency contact information.
We know that start delays and no-school days for snow or extreme temperatures represent an inconvenience to parents, so we do our best to declare them only when necessary.
Schools Closed —
- Decisions to close schools are made only after analyzing much data and consulting various authorities.
- After reviewing all information available, the superintendent consults with senior staff, bus company operators and City of Cincinnati road maintenance authorities, and makes a decision as soon as possible (usually by 5 a.m.).
Two-Hour Delay — Yellow Bus Pick Up ONLY:
- Yellow buses will pick up students at morning bus stops two hours later than normal.
- Students who are driven to school by parents should try to arrive at schools when it is safe. Walkers should arrive when it is safe. No new material will be covered during the two-hour delayed start; teachers will use this opportunity for review and enrichment.
- Afternoon dismissal will occur at each school's normal time.
- No preschool bus service will be available.
High Schools — Operate on Normal Schedules during Two-Hour Delays:
- High school students ride Metro buses (public transportation) to and from schools. Metro bus schedules cannot be adjusted to accommodate CPS' two-hour delay, so high schools will open at the normal times with school staff in the building to supervise students.
- Metro buses will run as close to normal schedules as weather and road conditions permit.
- Afternoon dismissal will occur at each school's normal time.
