Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 22nd, from 1:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Here are your options:

Drop-in, face-to-face conference
Email the teacher to check in
Email the teacher to ask for a phone call

REMINDER: No quarter grades

Although there are no quarter grade cards this year (only semester grade cards), parents can continuously monitor achievement through our PowerSchool Parent Portal. The portal may be accessed through a desktop or laptop computer. PowerSchool also offers a PowerSchool for Parents smartphone app which is an easy way to keep track of your student's progress.

If you have any questions regarding Blair Oaks High School's grading policy, please refer to page 16 of the student handbook.

Honor roll will be recognized and announced each semester this year.

Masks & Water Bottles

Masks: If a student forgets to bring a face mask to school, they will be provided one by the office staff. A few of our students are viewing this as a permanent solution and our mask supply cannot withstand that demand. If your child receives a mask from the office, please do not dispose of it; the mask can be washed and reused. We are reaching out to parents and asking you to provide a face mask for your student to use on a regular basis.

Water Bottles: Students are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle to fill up at school. Currently, water fountains are only allowed to be used for filling-up personal water bottles and not to drink directly from the fountain. We would love parents help by reminding your child to be sure to have a water bottle ready to use at school.

Project Graduation Fundraiser

Project Graduation is selling tickets for their Pork Steak or Brat BBQ fundraiser. You may purchase tickets from any senior. Thank you for your support of the Class of 2021!

Note: Tickets may also be purchased in the middle school office from Kathy Verslues on Parent-Teacher Conferences, Thursday, 10/22/2020 from 1:00-7:00 p.m.

Pork Steak or Brat BBQ Fundraiser
Your choice of BBQ Pork Steak or 2 Brats includes baked beans, coleslaw, and roll.
Date: Sunday, November 8th
Pick-Up at Wardsville Lions Club from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Cost: $10.00 per ticket (prefer purchase in advance)
Deadline to purchase tickets from a senior is Friday, October 23rd.
Tickets are available onsite while food supply lasts.

Gold Star Monument Fundraiser

Message from Blair Oaks' Operation Bugle Boy Club:

The Hershel "Woody" Williams Medal of Honor Foundation assists in the creation of Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments in every state throughout the country and in many communities. Gold Star Family members and relatives are those who have sacrificed a Loved One for our Freedom in the armed forces of the United States. Senior Composites

Wagner Portrait Group will be at school on Thursday, October 29th, to take Senior Composite photographs. These are used for the group photo that hangs in the school hallway.

GUYS should wear a solid colored long sleeve dress shirt and tie. GIRLS will be photographed in a traditional drape provided by Wagner Portrait Group

School Picture Retake Date

School Picture Retake Day has been
scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd

Wagner Portrait Group will be at school to photograph any students who were absent on the initial picture day or any student that needs his/her picture retaken.

Absentees/New Buyers:

If your child is coming to the camera as an absentee or as a new buyer, please use a picture day envelope to fill out which package you would like to order, and send it, along with payment, with your child on picture day. Picture order forms will be sent home with absentee students the week before pictures and will also be available in the high school office.

Retakes:

If your child needs a picture retake, please return the entire package, including the package insert, on picture day.

Patriot's Tree

Leon’s Patriot Tree is the Blair Oaks community's opportunity to show appreciation to our military families for their service by donating items to the Blue Armory and/or making monetary donations. Donation deadline is Wednesday, November 4th. Donations may be dropped off at any Blair Oaks school.

Veterans Day Celebration

The Blair Oaks R-11 School District will be having its annual Veterans Day celebration on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Our Veterans Day letter is linked below and contains more information as well as the list of service personnel who will be included in the video presentation. Please review the list and contact the high school office with names that should be added.
