Parsons Pirates Update

We had a lot of fun this week celebrating our positive behavior. We have seen an increase in sickness this week, especially a stomach bug. Keep encouraging your child to wash their hands and check out GSD's "when to keep your child home from school."

Our PBIS Snowball Party and Valentine Cookie decorating was a big success! Thanks to the kindergarten team for organizing. The grade level winners also loved having lunch with a friend and decorating cookies in the office. They were sweet (literally), respectful, and kind. Stay tuned for the Dance Party coming next month!

The 100th Day of School is Tuesday, February 14. Can you believe we are 100 days smarter? It is also Valentine's Day. If you are volunteering for a classroom party, please make sure you have a background check prior to Tuesday.

Drama Club is just around the corner! Auditions will be held Wednesday, February 22nd from 6:30-7:30 at Parsons. Please check out the flyer. You must register before auditions. Registration closes on Wednesday, February 15th.

Grandparent's Breakfast is a Parsons tradition. This year's breakfast will be held on February 28th from 7:30-8:30. This event is now full. Thank you to Erica Green for organizing this event.

The Scholastic Book Fair is back! It will first be open on the morning of the Grandparent's Breakfast. Check out the following letter for all of the information. Happy Reading!

Kindergarten enrollment for the next school year opens Tuesday, February 21. Kindergarten Round Up will be Tuesday, April 11. Stay tuned for more information! We can't wait to meet our newest pirates!

Child Challenge-Find a time this week to recognize your child when they are being kind. Tell them how much you really appreciate it.

The Kids Heart Challenge is back! Students are learning all about the Kids Heart Challenge and jump roping in gym with Mr. Grima! Check out the family letter to learn how your family can get involved and support heart health!

As of Thursday, we have raised $2,442 towards our $8,000 goal. The class with the most students registered is Mrs. Smithson's class!
