Blair Oaks High School - October 26, 2018
Veterans Day Celebration
The Blair Oaks R-11 School District will be having its annual Veterans Day celebration on Friday, November 9, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.
This year's guest speaker is Vietnam War Air Force pilot Colonel (ret) John Clark. On March 12, 1967, Captain Clark was forced to eject over North Vietnam during a combat mission, was immediately captured and taken Prisoner of War. After spending nearly six years in captivity, Captain Clark was released during Operation Homecoming on February 18, 1973.
See link below for more information in our Veterans Day letter. The letter contains the list of service personnel who will be included in our video presentation. If you know of anyone whose name needs to be added to the list, please e-mail high school secretary, Roxie Carlton, at rcarlton@blairoaks.org or call the high school office at (573) 635-8514.
Serving now or in the future?
Last year during our Veterans Day assembly, we were able to recognize parents of students and family members of our staff that are currently serving or will be serving within the year. We would love to do that again this year.
We need your vote!
Help our school win free classroom supplies and technology from Sonic through their Limeades for Learning promotion going on now through 10/28/18 . Sonic is working with Donorschoose.org to fund $1 million worth of products to public school classrooms across the country. It’s is very easy to help. Vote daily for our school because SONIC will fund the projects with the most votes at the end of each week.
Follow the link to https://www.limeadesforlearning.com/, "sign in or log in", click "voting" on the far left. From there, scroll down to search for "Blair Oaks" to find Mrs. Verslues's and Mrs. Bennett's classes from the MS or Mrs. Eichholz's class from the HS.
You can vote once a day. Also, if you make a purchase at Sonic before 10/28/18, they should give you a sticker coupon code to type in for extra votes. Thank you for your help!!!!

Senior Composites - Nov. 1st
Wagner Portrait Group will be at school on Thursday, November 1st, to take Senior Composite photographs. These are used for the group photo that hangs in the school hallway. Parents are invited to order photo packages to use in senior publications and invitations.
This year, Wagner will photograph your child, then mail a proof of the photo to the parent's address on file with the school. Pictures of your senior may be ordered at that time.
GIRLS: You will be photographed in a traditional drape provided by Wagner Portrait Group. For your comfort and modesty, we suggest wearing a tank-top that has thin straps that can easily be pulled down when putting on the drape.
Wagner Portrait Goup will also provide Caps & Gowns for all students.
Nichols Students: Wagner Portrait Group will be at school from 8:00am-12:00pm to accommodate your schedule. As soon as students return to the high school, they should go directly to the library to have their photograph taken.
