2023-2024
Golden Griffis
November Principal Update
Griffis has many things we are grateful and thankful for. We are grateful for the amazing staff we have on our campus. Each and every staff member at Griffis is dedicated and committed to excellence. The amount of love they pour into our students daily is what makes them remarkable. We are thankful for our Griffis students and their smiling faces each day! Their work ethic, character, and determination is what makes Griffis bright each and every day. It is a privilege to work with such wonderful families and we want you to know we are thankful for YOU and your support.
GO GRIFFIS!
Sincerely,
Michelle Colwell & Erin Gray
Who are you Grateful for?
We know you have a teacher, custodian, paraprofessional, or a member of the office that you are grateful for. Let's let them know!! We love doing this activity for our staff members in the month of November. One of our Capturing Kids' Heart focus is AFFIRMATIONS. We want our teachers to hear affirmations from parents and families also. A kind statement can go a long way. One of my favorite things to see in the classrooms is affirmations notes from staff members, students and parents visible near their desk. It is a reminder that is needed on those hard days. We will print these out for our teachers and share them for them to have. I promise you, it will brighten their day, week and month!

Connecting the Dots Expo
Region 10 is offering a FREE expo to families of students with disabilities.
Connecting the Dots Expos are a series of informational fairs for students with disabilities, their caregivers, and educators as well as vendors who provide services.
The purpose of the fair is to provide information about community-based resources, services, and supports. The fair will offer information and resources available to families such as medical and mental health services, educational support, employment training and support, post-secondary planning, recreational activities, support groups, information on guardianship and supported decision-making, and more.
The day is structured for attendees to have informal access to the variety of vendors participating, as well as attending structured content breakout sessions. Sponsoring districts across the eight-county area of Region 10 ESC in collaboration with the ESC staff provides this free fair in order to connect and support our communities.
No registration is required for students and families.

AlphaBest After-School Program
Counselor Corner
Each month, we will focus on a particular character trait. Mrs. Wygal will give daily announcements regarding that trait to help the students put it into action. Each month, teachers will be looking for positive referrals from their class that they feel has best demonstrated the monthly trait. The trait for the month of November is Gratitude. Also, please see the monthly parent newsletter below.
