Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

11AP1 Science had some wonderful results from the crystallisation practical, especially Finlay, Grace, and Katie. You can see that their salt has fully crystallised in the evaporation dish.

Subject Highlights:
Maths:
Miss Kaur has nominated 9A1 Maths, in particular Chloe H, Maya, Alfie C , Marian, Freddie, Aadi, Julia, Kyle, Liam and Stanislaw for achieving full marks in find the gaps so far this year.
Mr Lee has nominated 7SW for the highest completion rate with Sparx this week. Also nominated is Year 10 students Floreen for exceptional in her latest assessment and Louis for exceptional solving equation skills!
Drama:
Mrs Hallybone has nominated her Year 10 Drama class for working very hard on their mock devising pieces. Particular well done to Rhian, Willow and Neave!
Humanities:
Miss Gilbert has made the following nominations this week:
Well done to 7TAfor completing and explaining the diagrams connected to different types of rainfall. Especially, Keziah and Samuel for their continued effort in the subject.
Well done to 8TU for being enthusiastic about coasts and how different waves are formed. Especially, Veronica and Karina for completing excel tasks.
Finally, well done to 9ST in both History and Geography, especially Chloe and CJ for working particularly hard in these lessons.
Mr Hallas would like to nominate 10D Sociology. The work ethic they displayed for a revision and consolidation lesson this week was simply outstanding. Well done and keep up the great work!
Mr Strumpher has nominated Year 10 students Neave, Jolanta, Dejan, Riley, Cameron, Ruben, Dawa, Kacper, Silviu, and Lilly for always being ready to learn in the lesson and working so hard in Geography. Also nominated are 11C Geography class for always working so hard in their lessons and always trying their best in the classroom. Finally well done to 7TU who always work so hard in the classroom. In Geography we are currently looking at weather and climate and, in every lesson, they are trying their best. Well done.
Miss Buffini has nominated 8CO who have worked really well in RSCS this week, 9TE have produced some really good work for the start of our Women’s suffrage movement in History and Year 8 have produced some excellent assessment work on Charles I and the English Civil War, Miss Buffini has been very impressed by the standard of work produced.

Miss Patrick has made the following nominations this week:
Year 7:
This week year 7 began learning Samba rhythms using body percussion. 7ST were particularly good at keeping the surdo part steady and consistent pace, making it easier for the other parts to also stay in time!
Year 8:
8TA have impressed Miss Patrick this week with their ability as a class to keep in time with one another, even when they were performing a polyrhythm of 4 completely different parts – well done!
Year 9:
9ST had an excellent attitude to learning during our minimalism workshop this week. Not only did they fully immerse themselves into the weird and wonderful activities, they also came up with some great answers to the question ‘what is minimalism’ – great work!
Science:
Scientists of the Week are:
Year 7 student Lilly for her amazing contributions within lessons.
Year 8 student Layla L for her excellent attitude in Science recently.
Year 9 student Olivia P who always asks questions and completes great work.
Year 10 student Kia for the excellent and continued effort put into her classes.
Year 11 student Tye for great work in Physics.
MFL:
Mrs Gonzalez-Villamil Lean has nominated 10CSP1 for their enthusiasm during lessons and their assessment etiquette. Also nominated is Year 9 student Mihai for his increasing participation and willingness to come out of his comfort zone to read out in Spanish.
DT:
Mr Harley would like to say well done to Year 11 DT student Alfie H for making great progress with his course work, Year 10 student Gabriela C for excellent team work and technical ability during the making of the folding table project and Year 12 Engineering student Dragos for his progress using solid works computer aid design software.
English:
Mrs Brown has nominated her Year 10 Literature class for their fantastic work leading up to the mocks and resulting in some great outcomes! Special mentions to:
Dylan C, Nikodem C, Izabela G, Robert M, Melissa S, Corina T, Jonathan W, Myrtle and Amie-Leigh.
Miss Magnay would like to say well done to 10A1 who completed their first assessment on An Inspector Calls. Miss Magnay has been particularly impressed with the progress made by Jana, Silviu and Harley.
