Dear DR Community,
We are very proud to announce that the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District has partnered with the Greater Attleboro Council for Children in their annual Christmas is for Kids (CIFK) program! Qualifying families in both Dighton and Rehoboth will be able to receive assistance, and our high school in DR will now be a distribution site for. those families. The Council for Children team has helped so many families in this area, and we are so excited to augment their efforts by both collecting donations and being a local distribution site. We look forward to ‘making DReams come true during the holidays.’ To learn more about the Council for Children, click this link. Please note that this isn’t just for Christmas; this is for the holiday and winter season.
If you are willing to make a donation, please click here.
This is an opportunity for any qualifying families in Dighton or Rehoboth to get holiday gifts and winter clothing. If you wish to receive assistance in the form of gifts and clothing, please be sure to submit the confidential application according to the guidelines below no later than November 27, but I am strongly encouraging you to fill out the application and get it submitted as soon as possible.
Click here to download the application. We will also have copies at each school as well as the Superintendent’s Office. Drop by or ask the school to send one home.
Completed applications must be returned with all of your required information with the application and story sheet in a SEALED envelope no later than November 27 in one of four ways:
• > > > dropped off at your child’s school. You must hand it directly to the secretary or administrator.> >
• > > > dropped off at the Superintendent’s Office. You must hand it directly to the secretary.> >
• > > > mailed to 4 Hodges Street, Attleboro, 02703.> >
• > > > dropped off to 4 Hodges Street, Attleboro, 02703.> >
Some additional information for you to be aware of:
• > > > When you fill out the “story” sheet (3rd page of the application), please do not include a list of specific items. We are planning on more children than last year's 900 children, so please just give us a couple of items and answer the questions on the front. We will prioritize warm clothes and do our best to match as closely as possible for toys, but please remember that we will substitute when we need to. We are assuming we may be doing more gift cards than usual for the teens, who we know love to shop for themselves anyway.> >
• > > > When you return the application, it is extremely important that you put all of your required information with the application and story sheet in a SEALED envelope. Remember the deadline is November 27.> >
The plan is to reach out to parents as soon as their application is approved to let you know that CIFK is working on your children's gifts. We will have a 1-day distribution at DR High School. You will be given a time. CIFK will send a follow-up letter in early December with the date and time for you to pick up the gifts.
Please let us know if you have questions via email at HolidayDreams@drregional.org.
Together, we are DR!

DES Parent/Teacher Conferences November 15th & 16th
Partnering with your child’s teacher
Watch for scheduling information from your child’s teacher.
November 16, 2023 is early release day- Students are dismissed at 12:15pm
Meeting with your child’s teacher should help build strong parent-teacher partnerships. Partnerships are needed if you and your child’s teacher are to reach your common goal: helping your child get the best education.
Don’t be afraid to reach out to your child’s teacher—you are an important part of your child’s education.
Ask to see a sample of your child’s work or bring a sample with you.
Ask the teacher questions like:
• Is my child at the level where he/she should be at this point of the school year?
• What do you think is giving my child the most trouble? How can I help my child improve in this area?
• Where is my child excelling? How can I support this success?
