I wanted to take this time to introduce myself to the North East Elementary School community. My name is Karen Adair and I am the new principal at North East Elementary School. I started my career with Cecil County Public Schools in 1997. I have served as principal of Elk Neck Elementary for the last four years.

I grew up in Cecil County and graduated from Elkton High School. I am thrilled to be at North East Elementary. I spent much of my childhood in the North East area. My father opened North East High School and served as principal there for over fifteen years. In my childhood years, I attended many athletic games, plays, touchdown dinners, and the long ago North East Water Festival. I am thrilled to give back to a community that gave me so much growing up.

I truly believe in an open door policy - feel free to email me or call me with any questions or concerns you have throughout the year. (kadair@ccps.org) This year, we are going to face many challenges together, but I truly believe that together we can make it work- we just need to remember that communication is key to success.

At this time, only 3%-5% of the NEES population will be attending face to face instruction . All schools in the county followed the CCPS Re-Entry Plan to determine those students who would be considered for face to face instruction. You can find the criteria outlined at the bottom of page 7.

If you are in need of a Chromebook or need an additional Chromebook based off the number of NEES students in your home to access this year's virtual learning, please complete the following survey. Chromebooks can be picked up at one of the two Back-to-School events, where you will also be able to pick up your students' Virtual Learning Kits containing this year's school supplies. Specific information about the dates and times of the Back-to-School events will be forthcoming.

Letters will be coming out next week with back to school information and the name of your students' homeroom teacher(s). Please look out for this letter as it contains a lot of information you will need to start off the school year.

On Thursday, August 27th from 4:00PM-6:00PM, families can drive thru the bus loop and pick up a virtual tool kit for each of your NEES students, meet and greet staff members, pick up technology needs, and receive a sweet treat. Stay tuned for more information coming out about this event.

During our Back to School Event, each child will be provided with a Virtual Learning Kit. In this kit, will be back to school supplies to provide your child with at home resources they will use throughout the school year. Attached is a copy of the Back to School List. Please, do not feel that you need to purchase these items. Again, we will provide the items in a Virtual Learning Kit at our Back to School Event.

Last night, Cecil County Public Schools sent out to all families a Re-Entry Questions and Answers documentation. Attached, you will find the document. This document contains sixteen important questions you might be having and the answers that go along with the answers.
