CHECK OUT WHAT'S HAPPENING AT MORA HIGH SCHOOL!
SHARING THEIR LOVE FOR READING WITH YOUNG LEARNERS
Mora Elementary's second graders experienced the joy and excitement of reading in a whole new way, thanks to our amazing guest readers from the High School's FFA!
It's truly inspiring to see our older students step into the role of mentors, sharing their love for stories and reading with our eager young learners. The smiles, the laughter, and the sheer wonder in the eyes of our second graders as they listened to tales and adventures were a sight to behold.
This beautiful exchange not only strengthens our community but also ignites a passion for reading that transcends age. We're so grateful for the FFA members who took the time to inspire and engage with our second graders! #ILoveToReadMonth #ReadingTogether
SILK ROAD DINNER THEATER
Mr. Faurie's classroom was transformed into a bustling crossroads of the ancient Silk Road, as students embarked on an extraordinary journey through time. Dressed as famous travelers and figures from this historic trade route, they not only brought history to life but also embraced the art of storytelling in the most immersive way.
Our intrepid students took on their roles with enthusiasm, communicating as their characters would have, sharing tales of adventure, trade, and cultural exchange. The air was filled with the spirit of discovery, echoing the diverse interactions that defined the Silk Road.
And what's a journey without a feast? Each student dined on a meal of their choice, adding a delicious layer to their exploration of cultures and civilizations that flourished along the Silk Road.
It was truly a sight to see - a testament to the creativity, imagination, and hard work of Mr. Faurie and his students. This dinner theater was not just an educational experience; it was a celebration of history, culture, and the timeless art of storytelling.
WARM HEARTS AND BOWLS AT MORA HIGH SCHOOL, THANKS TO FIRST CITIZENS BANK!
In a heartwarming display of community support, First Citizens Bank of Mora has made a generous donation that brought our "Soup's On" initiative to life at Mora High School! This incredible gesture enabled our food shelf program, Food for Friends, to provide families with something special this February.
With valuable dietary guidance from MN Extension, we were able to purchase crockpots, ladles, and all the ingredients needed for a nourishing slow cooker meal. Families visiting MHS during evening conferences had the delightful opportunity to collect their crockpot and ingredients, ensuring warm, delicious meals for many.
This initiative goes beyond just feeding bodies; it's about nourishing our community's spirit, providing comfort, and fostering connections. A huge THANK YOU to First Citizens Bank for their generosity and to everyone involved in making this project a success. Your kindness and support have truly made a difference in the lives of our students and their families.
Here's to more warm meals and warm hearts in our community!
CELEBRATING NATIONAL FFA WEEK AT MHS
This week, we're shining a spotlight on our incredible MHS FFA team, a dynamic group that proves the power of dedication, community, and agriculture! As an integral part of our school and community, the FFA isn't just an extracurricular activity; it's a movement that involves all students in meaningful ways.
From engaging 100 community members at the sales barn to spreading the joy of reading to over 300 preschoolers to 2nd graders, our FFA members are making a significant impact. But that's not all! They've shown immense appreciation for our staff with a delightful breakfast for over 80 members, educated 100 6th graders about the wonders of agriculture through a fun soil lesson, and even embarked on a journey to raise 300 rainbow trout with MN Trout Unlimited.
Our FFA members are truly the heart of our school and community, staying busy and active with projects that not only enhance their learning but also contribute significantly to those around them. Let's give a big round of applause for their hard work, dedication, and the positive spirit they bring to MHS and beyond!
Happy National FFA Week! Here's to more growth, learning, and success in all your endeavors. Keep up the fantastic work!
