During these times, the teacher works towards academic or social-emotional goals that have a connection to Authentic Learning or supporting students with their Authentic needs. Please see the goals teachers are currently working on.
Gr6 Students will learn and apply three regulation strategies through daily mindfulness lessons embedded into Religion classes by November 29 - students reflect on the most helpful strategy.
Gr7 Students will be able to use academic/subject-based vocabulary to better understand words and comprehend text, by achieving 75% or higher on a summative vocabulary assessment by November 27.
GR8 Teachers will identify student’s unique interests/motivators to boost productivity and decrease barriers to handing in assignments increasing by 20% completion on summative assessments.
GR9 Students will complete 4 individualized homework tasks per core subject (excluding Religion) per week with a class completion rate of 75% or higher.

Catholic Social Services (CSS) Giving Tree Christmas Project
Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools has partnered with Catholic Social Services (CSS) Giving Tree Christmas Project to provide families, who have children enrolled in school, with gift cards to purchase Christmas gifts. This is a barrier-free program where eligibility is based on referrals from our counseling programs. The focus is on empowering parents to be the solution to their kids' needs- plus they know their children and their interests best!
We are accepting donations for Walmart gift cards only. Donations can be dropped off at the St.Lorenzo office until December 4th, 2023. Donors will be given a Christmas tag from our Christmas tree to return with their pledged number of purchased gift cards. Walmart gift cards can be purchased in $25 or $50 amounts. Thank you for your donations and for supporting families within Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools

Golden Eagle Athletics
Our very first Golden Eagles volleyball season has almost come to an end. Both our Jr. Girls teams are playing in City Finals at St. Joseph High School on November 21 and the Jr. Boys play in City Finals on November 23, also at St. Joseph High School. Our Sr. Girls finished their season last night at EMTS. They played great and came out with a win in their very last set! We'd like to wish our Sr. Boys good luck as they head to CWAJHAA at Camille Saturday November 17.
Basketball tryouts will be starting soon. Please watch for more information. As always, please see our SLR Sports Calendar for tryout, practice and game times and locations. This calendar is updated regularily and is the best way to stay on top of everything SLR sports related. If there is ever a change in the schedule, this is where you will find it.
