Board Update
TCS Paves the Way for Full-time Distance Learning Option
Your Choice for Your Child.
The Tuscaloosa City Schools is planning for a virtual option in the fall. The Board of education members received a preliminary update on the system's draft Recovery & Reopening Plan. The plan, presented in concept, includes three scenarios for the 2020-2021 school year:
- full time in schools
- part-time in schools with a staggered approach in which students would attend a mix of in-person and distance learning through the week
- virtual learning for full-time students
Under this plan, parents may elect to continue virtual learning as part of the school system's offerings. Look for more information on this in the coming weeks as families will be individually contacted to make a determination on your choice for your child.
