AHS Football Clinches District Championship
In an offensive showdown that featured a combined 124 points in the first three quarters, there were only three in the final period but they were the biggest of the game as Adair’s Cale Winfrey kicked a tiebreaking 28-yard field goal with 1.6 seconds left at Pawhuska.
“(Friday’s) game was just like the entire season — a rollercoaster,” Adair coach Brady Bradbury said. “Our kids just kept responding with toughness both mentally and physically the entire nights. Ultimately, we just found a way.”
The Warriors improved to 6-3 overall and 6-0 in 2A-8 in a game where both teams combined for 1,142 yards of offense.
Winfrey finished with 384 yards through the air with four touchdowns, and he also rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Winfrey also had an interception on defense in the fourth quarter.
Reece Jackson chipped in with 113 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and he also had a receiving touchdown. Ryan Wilson added seven catches for 183 yards and two touchdowns.
