Weekly Newsletter 9.2.24
This week...
Wow - we're halfway through the school year already! I would like to take a moment to thank our amazing staff, who put in so much time and effort to ensure our children get the very best care and education in our school!
We were treated to a little bit of snow this week, which meant we happily headed outside to have a play! Although it didn't settle, we thoroughly enjoyed feeling the snow fall on us.
As we approach the half term holiday, we wish you all a happy and peaceful break. We look forward to seeing our fantastic children again, refreshed and ready to learn, on Monday 19th February!
Thank you, as always, for supporting us to
Live, love and learn with the Lord.
Mrs Ronicle
Living our virtues
At St Joseph's, we encourage our children to live by our virtues, both inside and outside of our school setting.
It was wonderful to receive a message from a family this week, to share how Caitlin had visited Lincoln Cathedral at the weekend, and wrote a special prayer dedication to her school family.
It made my day - well done, Caitlin, for showing the virtues of Love and Thankfulness!
CORRECTION - First Holy Communion
My apologies - the time of the First Holy Communion on Sunday 29th February is 9am. Please ignore the earlier misprint.
As we approach the First Holy Communion, could you please keep the following children in your prayers:
Lacey-May, Owen, Ronnie, Felicity, Arabella
Miss Macmillan / Miss Gill
We were sad this week to say goodbye to Miss Macmillan, who has been teaching in St Francis since last year. She's been a wonderful member of our St Joseph's family and we are grateful for her hard work. Hopefully, she will come back as a supply teacher here on occasion!
After half term, we are happy to be welcoming Miss Gill back from her maternity leave, to teach on Mondays and Tuesdays in St Francis! We're all looking forward to having you back!
Other faiths week
Ash Wednesday
Next Wednesday (14th Feb) is Ash Wednesday. Ordinarily, we would take the children to a special Mass but obviously the day falls in the school holidays this year. If you would like to take your child to Mass, there are services at St. Joseph’s Church at 10.00am and St. Edward’s Church at 7.00pm.

Diamond Award!
A huge congratulations to our latest diamond award winner! This week, we wanted to celebrate Dalton for always working incredibly hard during his phonics sessions! I was so impressed that a preschool child was able to spot rhyming words! Well done, Dalton!
Clothes Request!
Do you have any old trousers, pants and socks, suitable for our preschool/reception children in St Francis?
Our children love to get muddy and we go out in all weathers - this does mean we end up having to change clothes and having a bank of spare clothing would be really useful!
If so, please drop them off in the office, send them in with your child or leave them with me on the gates in a morning. Thank you in advance!
Wetherby Foodbank
This time of year can be especially hard after the expense of Christmas and during the cold months. The Foodbank is here for anyone that is struggling to afford the essentials, not just food but gas and electricity etc.
Wetherby Foodbank are here to help.
See the poster below for further information and details on how to contact them.
Bowling and Putting Discount
We have been given a 50% discount code for our families to enjoy over February half term!
